**Official Fall 2014 Dartmouth Transfer Thread**

I got in

Waitlisted! Will definitely be sending in additional information.

For those who go in do you mind sharing your stats with me. And you writing supplements?

@jevano if you want I can share some stuff with you. I don’t know applicable it might be to you though, I’m 26, so not exactly the traditional transfer student.

Waitlisted too…

Waitlisted.

waitlisted

Suspiciously high rate of waitlisted transfers

rejected

@swampedwithwork yeah, I’m calling BS on at least a few. I can post the text of the decision letter for proof, or if anyone is interested.

Well only 5 persons posted that they got waitlisted so far

Maybe the extra waitlists has something to do with the yield numbers we’ve seen from the admissions office for Class of 2018 - maybe they just want to have all their bases covered before admitting the last few transfers?

Rejected  However, I got into Penn (going) and Vandy. Rejected by Cornell and USC as well. I’m also a URM, so it just goes to show that the URM advantage is minuscule. Admissions is such a crapshoot. Moral of the story: Apply to as many schools as you can!!

Rejected. Doesn’t sting so bad after my acceptances, though. Congratulations, everyone!

Waitlisted as well - anyone accepted that will not be attending?

Is everyone sending in additional updates to supplement their application?

Definitely going to go ahead with the additional updates!

Will they let us know about the waitlist even if we didn’t get in?

@bookznhoopz Yes. In previous years’ threads, waitlisted transfers received occasional updates regarding the status of the overall waitlist. Everyone received one final email in June that the class was fully subscribed, and the waitlist was now closed.

Hopefully the yield is low, and we’ll be offered admission. :-bd

@KingofSweden I’ve been in communication with the office, and they’ve stated that it’s unlikely that the transfer waitlist will be used this year.
For anyone interested, the individual that I spoke to also mentioned that ~45 students had been offered a position on the waiting list, while less than twenty were offered admission.
