I’ve noted that only two people so far on this forum are applying to the College of Human Ecology (CHE). The statistics look pretty good for those applying to this college. See this link for details: http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf. If these statistics hold true, than that’s an overall acceptance rate for College of Human Ecology transfer applicants of 54.46% (61/112).

Here are some of my stats-
Applying to: College of Human Ecology (CHE)
Major Applied to: Human Development
Pre-Professional Interest: Pre-Health/Pre-Med
Application completed: most materials were received by mid-February

Current College: Rutgers University-New Brunswick
Current GPA: 2.929 (I did poorly this past semester, but continue reading)
Credits earned: 14.0 (12.0 in progress)
Previous College: Case Western Reserve University
Final GPA Upon Withdrawal: 3.724
Credits earned: 29.00
Overall College GPA (from both Universities): ~3.465

High School GPA: 3.839 UW/4.061 W
Standardized tests: Did not submit (they were not required)
Where from?: NJ

Significant ECs: Volunteered on local first aid corps for my township in high school, volunteered with a family from Darfur in Sudan, teaching them literacy and helping them earn U.S. citizenship, ran JV Cross Country through Junior year of high school, completed >50 hours of community service during my freshman year at Case Western, primarily volunteering at the local children’s hospital

Possible “hooks” for admission: I am legacy; my mother attended the College of Human Ecology for her undergraduate degree.

Comments: I have not done all pre-requisites that the College of Human Ecology requests be completed. I tried to explain in my application that this was due to extenuating circumstances, but the woman with whom I had a phone appointment did not sound too sympathetic.

My fingers are crossed, but I’m honestly not too hopeful about Cornell. I think that I have a lot of things working against me. One thing that could be could help my candidacy is my legacy status, however.

Personal message me with any questions and such.

Thank you so much for sharing those stats! It makes me feel a little better. I think you have a chance! Do not give up, you never know with these things, all you can really do is wait and hope for the best. You seem like a nice person and I hope we both get into CHE!

Has your application been sent for review?

also not sure if you are a girl or guy but looks like 69% acceptance rate for girls but keep in mind thats from 2011 so im assuming its a little harder now

I guess anyone here can login the To Do List Right? Can anyone of you login the Housing Portal? I tried and it said “Either your session has timed out or you are not currently logged in”

I wonder how we are gonna receive our admissions decision. I was looking at older threads from 2012/2011 and people were getting them through the phone, mail, and email.
