@cj2017 when did all your app get sent for review?

do you guys know how to check when our application was sent to review

Applying: Economics
School: University of Utah
GPA: 4.00
Credits: 55 (applying with 71); I sent out midterm reports which shows all A on my current courses.
hs GPA: 3.8
SAT: none
EC’s: some activities in the college which are relevant to my majors

@PainttheSilence, thanks! @000AAAaaa, I’m not sure, but it was within the week or two after the deadline I’m pretty sure. I just know that I sent it in day of and that all of my materials went in without having to resend them or anything.

I just called the CALS admissions department and asked when we would be notified. She asked me what major I was applying for(AEM), and when I told her when my application was sent for review (last week of March) and that I sent my midterm report in about two weeks ago, she said that the admissions were rolling from mid-April to May(I know I read the website a million times) and that AEM applicants would find out “later” because they evaluate the major in a “more robust” fashion, or something along those lines. So basically, no one knows when we’ll find out and I’ll continue to frantically check the housing site and freak out every time I get an email notification on my phone…

Good luck everyone! :)

@william95 She didn’t happen to tell you when other majors would be notified, did she? Haha.

I’m always scared to contact them in fear of it affecting my admissions decision, I guess that’s probably not the real case though, lol.

@william95 If you think about it though mid-April is next week so not much longer

@ansci412 she didn’t directly as she was being vague but it seemed as though she implied they would be notified before AEM. I know that doesn’t help much haha

@lanbernas It seemed like she was trying to say AEM would be notified later in the mid-April to May period, wasn’t very clear though

Had a brief phone interview with Cornell yesterday. Im applying for the ILR school and was told I would have a decision by either the last week of april or the first week of may. Fingers crossed!

Look like a lot of GPA 4.0 here applying for CAS. Very competitive application pool for CAS…

@MYOMOO yeah, and seeing that I don’t have a 4.0 in college or in my high school records, my recommendations and my essays are all I have.

Keep in mind some applicants with very high GPAs haven’t necessarily taken a lot of credits. They’d rather see someone with a 3.5 that has taken 40 credits than someone with a 4.0 who has taken 20. Also, it’s important to always be a full-time student, to show you can carry a full load and still get the grades. So the grade alone is not everything, by any means.

@ansci412 Yeah I am so glad for the hollistic approach to admissions. Of course when they review the one semester I have under my belt (as a freshman) they will see that I had 18 credits and managed a decent gpa while being very active in club sports and volunteerwork. Well, at least I hope they will see it that way. I listed all of this semester’s courses as well and I will have 36 by the end of freshman year. But with only one complete semester under my belt, it makes me a little uneasy.

@TheKid3 did they call you from a blocked phone number? aspiring ILR transfer applicant here

@VersaceBoy Come to think of it, I have been regularly receiving a call from “Unknown” about twice a week.

@rdlp123 yeah… I have 58 unites and very busy schedule… I doubt that will help though…

I have over 90 credits with a 4.0. I don’t have very much clubs and activities but I did work full time fifty hrs plus throughout school and have four kids at home. Don’t know if that will help or hurt

@lstevenson242 Would you mind me asking if you are you currently a sophomore or a freshman, which school/major are you applying for?

Sophmore. I actually finished my two year degree last semester in c.a.d.d. computer assisted designn and drafting. I’m taking a full semester now as well but its all classes cornell suggests on the transfer site. I’m applying for mechanical engineering
