@ansci412

Applying: Animal Science
School: Comunity College
GPA: 3.88
Credits: 46 (16 in progres, will finish in summer. A.S. in May) all pre req but Physics
hs GPA: not available - international school
ACT: 28
EC’s: Full time job at emergency animal clinic 40+ hpw. Volunteer at horse rescue. Member of 2 honors societies and honors club.
Independent student, European origin, …

I am slowly giving up by now. I know my stats are not great, hoped my EC’s were good enough, but clearly not;)

@Rewaska

no way - your stats are GREAT. Did you look at my ECs? Mine are good I’ll admit, but my GPA is AWFUL!!! I have a 3.32! That’s really bad and everyone knows it! My only consolation to that is that my community college has an articulation agreement with them that requires “at least a 3.0 and a B or better in every prereq” which I have - but we all know that they traditionally won’t accept people on the lower end of the required GPA. I think you have a very good chance, especially because you are independent, both work and go to school full time, and have a very high GPA. I wish you the best of luck!! Hope to see you in the fall if we’re both accepted (I wont be -_-)

@ansci412 you are very sweet At least you have leadership role which I do not have:( Plus I do not have any research experience (I just really dont have time for ANYTHING else in my life with all school, taking honors corses, work and volunteering…). I believe it is anyones game.

Where else have you applied? I actually wanted to go somewhere else for undergrad because my heart is set on Cornell Vet school and I dont want to be at the same school for 5 years lol

@000AAAaaa Congrats!!! When did you submit all of your stuff? I submitted my Common App on March 1st, and I had my initial financial aid documents post-marked by March 1st, but they didn’t send my application for review until the very end of March, after I was able to submit my parents’ financial documents. Either way, I don’t think it looks too positive. If I don’t get an acceptance tomorrow or Thursday, I guess I can probably count on a rejection D:

@Rewaska

They will certainly take into account your busy schedule. Just the fact that you are able to maintain all of that makes you a great candidate for them. You don’t necessarily need leadership or research experience when you apply. If anything, you’re a leader just by doing what you’re doing!

I also hope to go to vet school, but i’ll go wherever I’m accepted in the US- highly unlikely that I would be accepted to Cornell CVM.

I also applied to New York state schools (Binghamton, Stony Brook, Geneseo, and New Paltz) and Rutgers University. I got into all of them so it isn’t like I don’t have any goood backups, but my heart has een set on CALS for the past 2 years now :(

I’m going to post my stats just for the heck of it!

Applying: Atmospheric Sciences in CALS

SAT: definitely not at Cornell’s standards. 1610 please don’t judge had to take it last minute both times and never got around to taking it a third time.
ACT: N/A
