@Ianbernas hey look @ that !! Haha good luck to you to !! @GarrettMicheal great to see a fellow MiraCostan applying good luck to you all !!!

@WildChild627 I actually don’t go to Mira Costa but I live right near it. I’m currently going to school right next to Cornell. If I dont get in I will go to Mira Costa next year though

@chemistryking
Yea i think that is really strange… I did not know they were allowed to do something like that. But i guess schools do all sorts of things to find out more about you.
Random but I went to Mira Costa high school

Also doesn’t it seem like less people are applying then usual? I feel like by now a lot of people post on these kinds of forums( not that really indicates anything)

I sent my application material to the undergraduate admissions office rather than the transfer admissions office . What do I do ? I’m panicking

@lifedeath1 I’m sure they’ll sort it out, maybe send them an email?

@Ianbernas did I say you went to MCC ? Sorry my bad, good luck to you anyway !

I just apply to get officially rejected haha.
Applying: School of Arts and Science, biological sciences
GPA: 3.81
HS: 3.5
SAT/ACT: None
“Hooks”: Hispanic, first generation student…
EC: Volunteer tutor for Organic chemistry, Supplemental instructor leader for general chemistry. Interned at the STEM Institute Program where I introduced high school students to all the different STEM disciplines, I also conducted research and became a co-author of a paper that will be displayed in the 2014 American Society for Engineering Educators (ASEE) Journal. Math tutor for summer. PTK member, member of the Transfer Honors Program at my school. Cofounder of the premed club society at my school. Have been a student panelist for other first generation students at the high school level (something I’ve done for the past almost 5 years). Current LEAP member at Stanford School of Medicine where I’m working on a program that will provide information about the consequences of obesity in the hispanic community. All-California academic team winner where I was placed in the first team (chosen from over 2 million students), and participated in a program where I explained my results to high school students in my area (along with Stanford grad students) etc etc…
I honestly don’t want to get my hopes up, I simply applied because I want to get officially rejected haha
Wish you all the best!

@lifedeath1 I was told by Cornell that all their mail goes to the same processing center anyway, regardless of the address you send it to. They process the mail there, so I am sure they will realize you are a transfer applicant.

@lifedeath1 I sent mine to the regular admissions office too and it transferred :)

Is anybody applying communications? If so, how many of the required courses have you taken/in progress?

@lanbernas Im applying for communication. I have all of the required classes taken except general chem, which I am taking now. I have all A’s in the required classes so hopefully that’ll get me in

Hi guys. I have a question about Cornell transfer requirements. Does anyone know if I’m transferring as a junior transfer student, do I still have to send my SAT I and II scores? I’m thinking of NOT sending my SAT scores b/c they aren’t impressive (also, I’m transferring as a junior) but will my transfer application NOT considered and NOT reviewed if I do not send SAT scores?

@Realgeukrak: this is an answer you need to get from the absolute source, not just an internet posting. Call Cornell.

@Realgeukrak T26 is right you need to call admissions. It depends on what school you are applying to. CALS does not require SAT scores whereas Arts and Sciences requires you send them if you have taken them. Directly from the Transfer Guide on Cornell’s website:

Scroll to page 28
CALS: “SAT and ACT not required”
CAS: SAT or ACT if taken previously

I chose not to send my SAT scores because I took them over three years ago and they are not representative of the student I am today.

@T26E4 @lanbernas Thanks for your replies. I’ll directly contact the Admissions.

Hey everyone, for CALS, does anybody how Cornell will send out the admission decision? Is it by email, mail, phone call, or will it be stated in the “Check Application Status” website? Thanks!

@Gophernation Looking at the thread from last year, the first two AEM acceptances at least were by email. I’m sure that there is a mailed letter too.

@william95 Thanks!!!

Hey guys, any of you have your stuff sent for review yet? or do all of you still have some stuff not checked off yet?

@Gophernation

I sent everything in about 2 weeks ago and on my portal I’m still missing things. How about you??
