Official fall 2014 transfer thread

I forgot guys, I sent my midterm report on March 10th, could this cause my decision to be delayed?
When did you guys send your midterm report?

@andypopins February

Hey did you guys get an email with your pin when you pressed " forgot your pin"?

@NN40801 I didn’t :(

Did anyone else receive an email with your pin when pressed “forgot your pin” on the decision page?

@NN40801 I did

Guys that pin website’s so sketch I wish I didn’t enter my email on it.
Look at the url, it’s like apply yourself.com or something what even is that?
And when i try to go to main website (just apply yourself.com) my computer says it may be harmful so I don’t wanna go to it.
And do you really think everyone would receive a decision at the exact same time? We have years and years of data suggesting against that.

Hey guys, can everyone tell me my chances of acceptance.

High School Stats: 3.73 gpa 5 APs along with various Honor Classes, 6 Varsity Letters and a Senior Captain, Spanish National Honor Society, 33 ACT

College: Either 2.9 or 3.0 GPA (depends on my final exam grades) at a University ranked in the 20s of Forbes and in the top 15 of NewsWeek most rigorous academic Universities, average freshman GPA is 2.7 and average school GPA is 3.2

Offered a Guaranteed transfer to Cornell’s ILR but the requirement is 3.3 GPA. Have not been rejected from that pool yet.

Second semester grades are higher than first.

In an email regarding my class schedule I got a reply saying “that will help with your electives when you get here.”

What do you guys think of my chances for next fall, I am a freshman applying for sophomore year?

Also, what if anything at point could I do to increase my chances?

@chemistryking apply yourself is just a product of Hobsons.com Its the platform that many institutions use (including Cornell apparently) to manage large amounts of applications. (No university develops their own platform).
ITs also the official platform that regular decision candidates used. Here is the official announcement from Cornell to regular applicants:
“March 27, 2014
Admission decisions for fall 2014 regular decision applicants are now available online at https://decision.applyyourself.com/?id=cornellu</a>. Please refer to the admission decision notification instructions that were emailed to you previously.”

Oh okay cool. Now time to worry about what it means to have no pin found (what I have) instead of the april 22 pin.

@Chemistry102‌ i think all it means is that your decision isnt made yet or someones assistant hasnt assigned your pin yet. Dont sweat it. Youll have a pin no matter whathe decision is. Lets all take a zen moment to be in the moment of this anxiety… close your eyes, become the anticipation, embrace this short break in your journey to reflect on the roads you took to get here. We all desperately want to take the cornell path next but some of us will have to go a different way. Whatever road we end up on, we will no doubt have incredible experiences along the way cause everyone here is utterly brilliant and unstoppable! Breath deeply, enjoy the weekend, study, and may we find each other on the opposite end of next week in good spirits and optimism no matter the decision.

@beaccepted2014 i think you should win an award for that comment hahaha

@beaccepted2014 DAMN WOW great speech

@beaccepted2014‌ Well said!

@beaccepted2014 Awesome!!!

And snuggle a cat if ya got one… thanks! ;)

I haven’t posted my stats yet but I’m also applying to AEM. I got April 22nd at 10AM too. It’s almost harder to know that we actually have a date to wait for, than to have that slight hope every time I see I have an email.

I’m just going to post a short breakdown of my stats.
HS GPA: 4.1 on a 4.5 weighted scale, so around a 92 or 93 average
Current GPA: 3.52, but should be coming up with this semester’s grades
Current school: Freshman at top 10 business school/part of the big 10
Good ECs through high school and college
my most notable EC was doing science research in high school, and I have some work experience in corporate

I applied to a lot of schools, only heard back from one, and that was Vanderbilt and I got in, but I’d rather go to Cornell.

Good luck to all of you though.

@fall2014transfer Wow… Vanderbilt is a great school. I did not hear from any school yet.

April 22 10am lol.

@chemistryking‌ I wouldn’t worry about not being able to log in. It’s only advertised for rd applicants so it’s no wonder a handful of transfer applicants can’t sign in
