I have everything checked off except my HS transcript, which was sent off all the way back at the end of January (and again a couple weeks ago). Anyone else having this problem?

And while I’m here, I may as well:

Current School: SUNY Orange Community (has an articulation agreement w/ CALS)
School Applying to: CALS
Program: Animal Science
Current GPA: 3.32 (all As and Bs - also have all minimum prereqs done + extras - Bio I & II, Chem I &II, Organic Chem I &II, Physics w/ calc I &II, Calc I &II, Statistics, English/communications)
EC: Work as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital, work at my school’s academic advising office, volunteer work at animal shelters, President of Biology Club, research experience (including presenting at a research conference).

My GPA isn’t great at all but I feel my ECs may make up for it. What do you think?

@ianbernas
your so lucky, I have a feeling you might be one of the first to find out.
I would be so excited hah I have been checking mine constantly. What school did you apply to?

@ansci412 yea I faxed my midterm grades a month ago but it was to undergrad admissions instead of transfer admissions so I am going to call tomorrow and see if they can find it.

@000AAAaaa I faxed my midterm report and they checked it off just a few days later - it’s just my high school transcript I’m worried about! I sent them an e-mail about it, hopefully everything’s okay with it.

Hi all! geez… everyone seems so tough! I have a really bad feeling about this and I’m ready to get rejected :((
I am applying for SHA with current GPA of 3.56 (pretty bad, huh? >.<) in Edmonds Community College
I am an international student from Indonesia and my TOEFL isn’t that good too… I wonder if I don’t get the TOEFL requirement, would I still be considered… And my EC mostly are volunteer activities.
my interview went well I think and I rely on my essay as my strength…
I’m not ready to face the truth… T.T

What in the world… I don’t have my midterm report checked off but they have sent my application for review. Anyone else have this problem?

@Gophernation I have the same problem as you. My midterm report hasn’t been checked off but it says my application was sent for review!!

Honestly I don’t think the midterm report is that important unless there’s been a drastic change (going from like A / A- to B- / C+) so if you have everything else submitted then they’re going to send it to review. You might as well still try to get the report in ASAP though.

@giantsfan0824 oh I see, we’re on the same boat man… Haha

@william95 yeah that does make sense, when I called yesterday the admissions office also seemed to say something similar

@Gophernation make sure you get it in asap because they can’t make a decision without it

@Ianbernas yeah, it’s been delivered since 2 weeks ago thru mail but it hasn’t been processed. I’ve sent another one via fax two days ago so hope it works out

@Gophernation Where on the status page does it say your application has been sent for review?

Cornell is taking forever to process my papers. There must be a lot of transfer documents coming it right now.

finally cornell got all my stuff except for a midterm report. i didn’t send one cause my school doesn’t do midterm grades and a lot of my classes are curved at the end. really wouldn’t want them to see i get like a 70% on my midterm even though that’s on track for an A- or A

maybe i should send one anyway to be safe ugh

A little late to the party, but here goes:

Applying: Engineering
Current School: top ten state school honors program
Current GPA: 4.00
Credits: ~50
High School GPA: 4.63 (1/392), NMF
SAT: 1580
EC: College: Rowing (freshman rowing team), Orgo 2 TA, C++ Programming TA, Carillon Studio (I play the bells in the belltower haha), Presidential Waitstaff (Waiter/Bartender @ pres house), AD Pep-Rally Joke Writer (poke at rivals)
High School: Varsity Lacrosse (Captain, Academic-All American), NHS (President), HS Math Tutor
Recs: From the professors that I TA for
Hooks: …
Comments: I was accepted in high school but couldn’t afford to go at the time. Haha. Hopefully they still want me. Also, it would be floppin cool to play the cornell chimes

Oh and chemistryking, we do have to send mid-term reports. From the portal website:

“It is likely the selection committee will not be able to review your application until your midterm grades are available.”
and
“A final decision on your application for admission cannot be made until we know your current performance in all courses you are taking in the term immediately before you plan to enroll at Cornell.”

I feel you with the curve thing. 2/3 of the kids are failing one of my classes but grades won’t be adjusted until the end = deflated grades.

@treegoat exactly in your situation, this has got to be a common problem for engineering majors. so what are you going to do? should i talk to my professor and see what he estimates my final grade to be based off my midterm? i really don’t want to have to send them a “C” on the midterm report because there is no way i’ll actually get a C because the class average on the midterm was like a 52.

@ansci412 on the bottom of the check application status page
