I guess mine got sent for review too even without the midterm report. That’s exciting / nerve wracking :-SS

Apparently things start to get sent out mid-April. That is so soon!

Have any human ec applicants had their app sent for review?

The stress is killing me I do not know how I am going to get through the next month and a half :((
Where else is everyone applying?

My app hasn’t been sent to review yet, and I am still missing my midterm report. My professors are taking forever to grade my midterms and for three of them that literally will be the only grade I will have in the class.

At 000AAAaaa I am also applying to Notre Dame, Duke, WUSTL, Johns Hopkins, and Wake Forest. Cornell is my number one though, followed by ND.

So I decide to procrastinate actual work by creating statistics for the AEM transfers from last year’s thread (only included the ones who responded with their decision)…

8/19 Accepted
3 CC students, 4 students from 4 year schools (1 who didn’t say)
5 Juniors, 2 Sophomores (1 who didn’t say)
Average ACT (from 3 accepted students): 32.33
Average SAT (from 4 accepted students): 2235
Average GPA (from 7 accepted students): 3.76

What does this mean? Probably nothing but I figured I’d share

Hey guys,

I am new to the thread but love to see that I can share my anxiety with fellow transfer hopefuls.

Anyone here applying to ILR?

Do you all really think it will be mid april like it says?
Last year some kids got in at the end of March…Good luck to everyone.

@william95 that’s strange doesn’t the website say they strongly prefer sophomore transfers? hm.

and that average sat is just a little bit intimidating haha. but thanks for the stats i love that kinda stuff.

Chance Me…

Comments: Waiting for Rejection… AEM is Hard to Get in! But I hope I have a little chance. Keep praying everyday! Cornell University is just an extra school besides UC Berkeley and UCLA.

Well, my app has been forwarded for review without the midterm report. I will try to get it in by Friday. Here it goes.

Chance?
Applying:CALS AEM (rising sophomore)
Current School:Bachelor’s in Business and Econ. in continental Europe the University is highest ranked in social sciences
Current GPA: 3.75. (converted from EU grades so idk. because there is no official GPA on 4.0 scale here) (its high enough that I am an honor student)
Credits: 66 (ECTS)
High School GPA: No GPA
SAT score:2080 (Math:740 CR690 WR:650) (2013Dec)
TOEFL:113/120
Essay: Its passionate and reasonable I guess. Maybe 8/10 I honestly don’t know.
EC: Debate/Speech (Founder and president of NGO, speaker for my delegation in European Parliament), Photography(Ambassador for cultural dialogue by an EU project) I had two businesses one in the US one in Europe. EDx courses. Business ventures. Gap year. Lots of jobs both in my field and just to pay the bills.
Comments: I show initiative to study at AEM. for example: My high school school did not offer economics so I bought the books and studied it myself and I took the exams with a result of 5/5

@chemistryking Yes, it says there is very limited space for juniors. Like I said, I don’t think its an accurate sample for AEM transfer applicants as a whole

@Wellletshope Are you talking about Cornell’s AEM (Applied Economics and Management) program or is AES something different?

@william95 yes I corrected it, thanks for catching that.

@wellletshope good luck! your ECs sound great :)

@holdenc Welcome! Yes you definitely can, I think we are all very anxious! I believe it will be mid April
@challenging you stats and ECs are great?! why are you expecting a rejection??

@welletshope I am sure that they are going to like that you applied yourself in the field that you are interested in, you also have strong stats! I think you have a good shot

@William95 haha I can not tell you how many times i have gone through the past threads doing the same thing, I doubt that It will actually indicate anything but for some reason it makes me feel better…

Is anyone having the problem of their college transcript remaining unchecked on the check list? Is the college transcript uploaded by your current college with the Common App or does it need to be sent by mail separately?

@transfergirl818 You need to have your current college registrar send the official transcript. I did it by mail, not sure if you can do it online, but definitely very important so I would get on that ASAP.

@transfergirl818 either that or if you go a larger school like myself, you could just purchase your official transcript and mail it yourself

Applying: Cornell University Major: Physics Engineering
Current School: Case Western Reserve University
Current GPA: 3.865 (I believe I will get all A for this semester)
Credits: 97 (i am a sophomore, i have overloaded and 23 from AP)

SAT score: (As an international student, I didn’t take that)
EC: Not very much. Just attended a research last summer in CWRU
Comments: ???

How about my chance? I really want to enter an ivy university…
