I just got rejected by UCB. VERY sad now…

hurricaneal - same… I feel you, are you oos?

Hi all,

I’ve been reading this thread for some time today but I have not posted at all. I sent in my application to ILR and have been dying to hear back. Good luck to everyone that hasn’t heard yet!
Also got rejected from UCB so I feel you guys.

Hey all applying to CAS, talked to admissions today and I was told they will be releasing a majority of the decisions by the end of the month. Good luck to everyone.

@Hihiki
I am just a simple international student from China…

@hurricaneal 你好! Meeee tooo. Good to see you here.

I got accepted by UCB but rejected by cornell… So sad

Congratulation! :)

edit: oh… just saw the “so sad”…

Has AEM released decisions?

@Bflsdeab
你好!
I am currently in Case Western Reserve University. I got rejected by UCB and CMU yesterday. I feel VERY SAD right now, cuz I cannot see a clear reason to the rejection…
Which department are you applying to? I apply to physics engineering, but now holding a pessimistic view…

@hurricaneal I read your stats. It’s tougher for you to get in because you’re applying as a junior and you lack a strong extracirricular background (that’s my opinion). Everyone applying has the grades, it’s the story backed by your EC’s that counts. Not trying to hate on you or anything, I was in the same position as you last year and I asked myself the same question.

Is it harder to transfer as a junior? does this apply to all uni?

@Hihiki I’m pretty sure it is, especially if you’re planning on switching majors.

@cali2387
How to improve that? I guess I will find a job this summer… Is that possible for me to apply next spring?

@hurricaneal I don’t think universities offer a chance to transfer once you’re in your junior year, it’s too late. i’d say just work on your grad school app.

@cali2387 that’s not true. You are allowed to transfer up to 60 credits. So if you have taken more than 60 you just choose which credits won’t transfer. It doesn’t matter how many years you have been in college/cc. It’s all about how many credits you have

@hurricaneal Sorry to hear about that. :(

CWRU is also a great university. I believe it must be hard to decide to transfer to another college.

I am currently a freshman, applying for CAS in Bio major. Hope we could meet each other this fall.

好运!

@Bflsdeab
I am a sophomore… Well, CWRU is good in bio, but kind of soso in physics…

Hope to meet you in Cornell this fall!

@hurricaneal Soga…

Yeah. Good luck!! Through the vote on the CUUS, I believe there are at least 30 Chinese students applying as transfer students this year…
