Also, I heard that supposedly the first letters that start to get sent out in mid-April are rejections?

“Please note that transfer admission decisions are communicated on a rolling basis beginning in mid-April.”
On the application portal as of today.

@rdlp123 According to last years thread that isn’t true, the first acceptances (and possibly decisions if I remember correctly) came 4/16 for AEM.

@william95 Are CAS acceptances usually later then?

@rdlp123 From last year’s thread, the decisions came in waves (regardless of acceptance / denial) with a few early acceptances on 4/16

mine just got sent for review yesterday for CHE… do you know how long they usually take while they are in that stage?

@marathonstrong It can take a while, especially since letters continue to be sent out til June.

How can they make people wait til June, let alone mid-April? Don’t students need to make living arrangements prior to attending, should they get accepted? Or even have time to decide upon which school they want to attend? Many colleges ask for decisions by May 1st. Doesn’t make much sense.

@ansci412 Cornell doesn’t require a response until July 1.

@rdlp123 I meant people’s backup schools probably require a decision before Cornell does :)

@ansci412 Indeed! All of my other schools other than ND needs a response by March 31st or sometime around then.

Urgent!

I just received an email from Cornell Engineering saying that I have not provided course descriptions (that is correct, was not aware) and the question is how detailed does the document have to be?

According to Cornell engineering website:

Does that mean I have the attach the very original syllabus with all the topic (as appear on syllabus, with dates etc) or is that course description enough? Example physics II:

It is quite baffling as according to them the whole document should not be longer than 10 pages, but it is impossible if I have to include more detailed course description (detailed topics) that this…

Thanks in advance for help!

@william95 Awesome list! I just wanted to correct myself in that I will be majoring in Gov and Near Eastern Studies. Cornell calls it “Government” instead and I just realized this now.

Could you chance me plz @william95

Applying: Cornell University Major: Physics Engineering
Current School: Case Western Reserve University
Current GPA: 3.865 (I believe I will get all A for this semester)
Credits: 97 (i am a sophomore, i have overloaded and 23 from AP)
High School GPA: 3.9
SAT score: (As an international student, I didn’t take that)
EC: Not very much. Just attended a research last summer in CWRU
Comments: ???

How about my chance? I really want to enter an ivy university…

@rdlp123 I’ll correct it eventually, thanks for the update!

@hurricaneal I’m just a fellow applicant and I don’t have much knowledge about engineering admissions so realistically you have just as good of an idea as I do, but 3.87 and then a 4.0 seems very good for a engineering major (I’m assuming that is what you currently are). Good luck!

@william95 thanks for the list bud, would reallyhelp future applicants
