Wanted to get this started. No such thing as too early!

Didn't apply for my freshman year, but now seriously considering it as a transfer option. Any other prospective Yalies out there?

I’m planning to apply as a transfer student for fall 2014 as well! I’m so glad you’ve already started a thread. I’ll be a sophomore at Baylor this fall, but I chose Baylor thinking I would major in Chemistry. Now that I’m a history major, I’m looking at transferring to schools with stronger history departments (Yale, Penn, Georgetown, JHU).

Yale is phenomenal for history, and I wish you the best of luck. I’m transferring for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to receive the best governmental/constitutional theory education in preparation for law school. Just out of curiosity, are you applying for financial aid?

I transfered to Yale and will start classes this fall. Best of luck and feel free to ask me any question!

I have one. In applying to Yale, I want to focus on specific courses that I am interested in taking as part of my interdisciplinary major. Would it be a good use of time to compile a proposed plan of study at Yale, or are recommendation letters more important in the eyes of the admissions officers?

I’m definitely thinking of applying to Yale as a transfer along with Penn and Brown. I’ll be a freshman at Dartmouth in about a month so I’m definitely planning on giving it a chance but I applied to Yale EA, was deferred then rejected so for me it’s the one that got away.

@pphamHks congratulations! that’s awesome! do you have any advice for us prospective transfers about things like the essay and recommendations?

I am thinking about transferring to Yale, but I am not sure yet.
Best of luck to all of you :)

@lucya01995 Congrats that you got into Dartmouth, I applied too and was rejected.

Hey guys. I’m also applying for Fall 2014. I’ll be a freshman this year at The University of Texas. When would it be a good time to start the application? I’m also thinking about retaking my ACT. Good luck to all of us and let’s hope for the best!

@sunny12 thanks! it’s definitely an awesome school but cost wise it’s not the greatest; i have to take out a lot of loans in order for my family to afford it and i’m not so sure i want to graduate with a ton of debt. also, when i first applied to yale, i did it for engineering but over the last year i’ve realized that it’s not the best field for me and yale has two majors in arts and sciences that dartmouth just doesn’t have

Hi guys! So glad that this thread is up
I’ll be a freshman at UToronto studying life sciences and the thing that bothers me about how it works here is that there is a lack of community and that they encourage you to only take science courses. I want more diversity and exploration of fields.

I had applied to Yale RD 2017 but was rejected and devastated. I’m ready to give it another shot because I fell in love with it during the application process

I’m also planning on transferring to Yale! I’m currently an engineering major at Northwestern but I really dislike the lack of importance placed on taking humanities courses here to round out one’s education. Hopefully the shot at the dark as a Yale transfer works out!

Was rejected to Yale for RD 2017. Giving it another shot though I doubt I have any kind of chance. Would love to join this thread. Current Columbia (CC) freshman.

Does anyone know if it’s worth a darn to retake the SATs? Or, could it possibly even have a negative effect?

Hi Guys
Im an International student in my Sophomore year in CCNY.
I just did my SAT last week… Thinking of Yale… but Im Very very nervous…

I’m applying to Yale as a transfer from Wharton. :(

@gjonat11 If I may ask, why do you want to transfer from Wharton? It’s an incredible school, everything considered.

Hey y’all, in your boat as well

My application just got delivered to Yale half an hour ago! I plan on joining in my junior year, I’m currently in my sophomore year. I’m an international student.
@pphamhks What was your GPA, SAT score and extra curriculars?

I just sent in my application last week! I’m about to graduate from a Junior College with a 4.0 GPA. Do you think I have any shot or do they look for people from other top schools?
