@MarkLee1995, thanks for the info. I’ll try that.
@actvalour, let me know if you try it. I might have to do that as well.
@actvalour @themetamorphosis Let us know what they say if you try it. I have the same deposit due date predicament.
I feel pretty bad about my Brown chances, either way we will know in a week and a half
I called them up to ask if we can expedite our decisions but the woman on the phone sounded clueless about the decision date and if that’s possible. She said “the decision date does not exist yet so we cannot expedite it.” She also said the decision could be AFTER May 15th, but I don’t think that’s true because Brown’s website says we will know by then.
I got into Penn earlier today, so I think I can live with not hearing from my other colleges for a while!
Good luck to all of you!
Congrats, @josh007!
Thank you @actvalour!
anybody have an idea of when we’ll hear back? I also have deposits due soon and Brown is my top choice
@transferrb08 somewhere around May 15
@baoz0408 Is that when it was released last year? Because many schools that says by 15th on the website release quite earlier than that (like 3 to 7 days)
I called about an hour ago and the admissions officer said they haven’t decided a date to release decisions yet
Just called; I was told releasing results early would be unfair for other candidates, so no luck there. The Undergrad Admission page has been updated saying transfer results will be out by May 15th; don’t know how true to this they’ll be or when this was posted exactly.
On the plus side, the “click here” for decision button on my portal now works, but directs me to a page saying decisions aren’t available yet. Had minor palpitations when the page actually loaded though. Best of luck to everyone with final exams and schoolwork and of course with admissions!
Has anyone’s term changed to spring 2016?
If yours has it means you’ve been accepted for the spring semester.
Has anyone got a likely letter as a transfer applicant? If so, did they send it via e-mail or mail?
Nah, haven’t gotten anything yet. Does anyone have an idea when we will be notified? I can’t wait a week
worst case scenario, next Friday 5pm.
But hopefully before that.
@Collegeyadayada thanks for the details! Had never heard of that.
@whatisbusiness I am feeling to same way.
Maybe you all can give some advice. My state school is great and cheap. The deposit is due ($400) on Thursday. I was about ready to throw in the towel and go all in, but I don’t want to waste an amazing opportunity (even though I am feeling like my chances are very slim).
- Do you all know if they accept more than one person from your college?
- Are you all putting deposits in for other schools? Or should I try to get my decision from Brown expedited?
@JCW77 If you can wait until the 15th I would (as it’s just around the corner). Otherwise I would put down your deposit. In the grand scheme of things $400 is nothing in the college world, and you don’t want to miss a great opportunity to go to a great state school. If you get into brown, I highly doubt you’ll be mad that you paid $400, because I mean, you’ll be going to brown. Best of luck. And although admission is slim, the thing is, you never know. For example I never dreamed that I would get into Cornell this year, but hey, it happened.
Oh, and never ask a college you want to go to, to expedite their decision. It’s better to just bite the bullet with the state school. If a college feels rushed they will make a hasty decision.
@JCW77 also, it doesn’t hurt to check if you can get an extension on that deposit, if you haven’t already. I was able to get a deposit moved back 5 days, enough time to hear from Brown.
