Guys just got an email from Duke saying decisions are gonna be out on May 8, 3pm.
Yeah, got the email too. May 8th is the day! <3 Earlier than last year, that’s great!
6 more days to go!!!
I’m glad we have a date. I got into Georgetown and rice so far and the first deadline is by May 15.
Okay guys, might have found a trick.
- Login to Duke SIS
- After the "EMPLOYEE/" part of the URL add just this information: "SA/c/SALEARNERSERVICES.SSADMACCEPT.GBL?Page=SSADMACCEPT"
- It will say not authorized so right click and view page source, and control F and search for main content.
- Under main content, there will be a long URL so click on that and it will say not authorized to view.
- Right click and view the page source again. On my profile, it says "Accept Admission" in the page sources and "Accept/Decline" Admission. I wonder if this is fake or not.
It’s kind of long and tricky to get there, but just follow my steps. I won’t be asking questions about it because I just want to see if this same thing happens for other people and it comes Tuesday anyway. Let me know if you see “Accept Admission” in the page source code if you get there or if you see anything else noticeable.
@Dukedreamer10 Where u get this info?
@Dukedreamer10 I got to the authorization part but I am stuck on how to “view page source”
@“FutureIbanker/hfmanager” I played with the source code, a decent amount of colleges uses the same software and this is the same link that you would use to view your decision. What comes up on yours?
@Nantucketgirl3 If you are in chrome you right click like you are copy and pasting or do ctrl+ u
NVM
I wish you all luck and understand your impatience. With that said I wouldn’t be trying to backdoor the system by playing with the source code. If caught I would imagine your best case is Duke only denies you admission.
I base this on the code of conduct admitted students sign. While you are not yet bound by it, Duke admissions would likely disapprove of a candidate so clearly violating their expectation of Duke students.
Not worth it and once again I wish you luck.
@Nocreativity1 Word… That’s why even I am scared to try that. Pretty sure they can find out who accessed their decision site 5 days in advance. It’s def not worth the risk and I really don’t mind waiting couple more days as I already did for more than a month.
Sorry to be a voice of restraint but I am a Dad. Just hate to see someone grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
@Nocreativity1 I understand, it was foolish of me to try but I am just so anxious to view my decision. I currently attend Ohio State and the wait was just killer getting in freshman year.
@dukedreamer10 did you apply to Columbia? Any tricks for Columbia? Decisions are coming out tomorrow.
@RivenLeeXD Just Duke, sorry.
@Dukedreamer10 I will try your trick on Monday for Duke to play safe. Hacking in to view decision five days in advance is a bit risky. Will inform you after I access my page that day.
Just wondering did it actually work for others?
I was able to access those links, but was not authorized to view the actual contents. I don’t think they indicate any sort of admission decision, though.
Plus, don’t worry about being tracked or punished for accessing these random links! This is not even close to what’s considered “hacking” (no offense to anyone, but it’s such an old school way of thinking).
“Hacking” would be something like trying to access the database with administrator’s privilege and altering admission decisions.
