Wow, same county as my grandparents.
Gorgeous Area, indeed. Lots of rich folks up in your parts. :p

I’ve been following this thread for a while but have not posted. I checked this past Friday (4/23) and there was still no update.,.

And then…

I checked today (Sunday 4/25) and I got accepted!

I applied for Summer/Fall for the College of Liberal Arts (Philosophy).

crosspross: do you mind putting your stats?

I have a 3.3 from ACC with 45 hours.

No letters of rec. or extracurriculars, but damn lucky apparently.

Very Lucky…
Good essays I’m assuming…

After looking at everyones stats it seems like Liberal Arts students only need like a 3.5. It doesn’t seem very competitive.

I’m actually glad LA is not very competitive…

Yeah, LA must not be that competitive if they make decisions based on personality and creativity rather than only strict empirical data.

Congratulations to everyone, no matter what degree you are in. Everyone has tried just as hard as one another. Do what you love! xox

Did “Zircushio” get into UT? If yes, what is your major ?

Hi Everyone:

I am a little baffled that I have not heard of an acceptance or a rejection from UT yet. Here are my stats:

1st Choice Major: Communications
2nd Choice Major: Liberal Arts

GPA: 4.0
ACC - 30 hours (11 in progress)

5 letters of recommendation
Resume
Required essays plus the optional essay
Sent application packet in 1 month early

Extra Curricular
Student Government (Executive Council)
Phi Theta Kappa (Officer)

Any advice for me? I got accepted into my other choices of schools 2 weeks after I applied and it seems that 4.0 GPA’s and downwards have heard already. Does anyone know why this would be taking so long or how they are moving through the applications?

I do not know much about transfer admissions, but I thought you had to have 30 hours ready to transfer before UT would review your application.

I think you are saying you have 19 hours ready to transfer now and will have 11 more hours ready to transfer after this semester at ACC is over, so I think they will look at your application as soon as they get your spring semester transcript.

But, as I said, I do not know much about transfer admissions…

I currently have 30 hours and am working on an additional 11 to have 41 at the end of this Spring 2009 semester

I think you are in for sure. I think you should call and check to make sure your acceptance did not somehow slip through the cracks of their electronic notification system.

Thanks for the advice Midwest Mom. I called and they said that in specialist degrees like Communications, Engineering and Nursing that they are still making decisions because they have so many applications to go through. They said the majority of applicants should know in the next few days. Thanks again.

Hi, does anyone know when the admission decision for International Transfer students would be announced? I apply for McCombs Undergraduate. Thanks!

capwoo

yes i got accepted, natural sciences, biology

Did anyone apply for the transfer scholarship?

I couldn’t apply when I tried because I wasn’t accepted at that time.

^ i just looked at the website just now. i think its the stupidest thing to set up a transfer scholarship due before you hear back from UT. so now everyone who has been accepted, can’t fill it out.

They probably do it on purpose…
