Official Fall Transfer 2009

butterfly9, good deal!

vic12, sorry man.
Did you apply to any other schools?

yes. Purdue,UIUC and Minnesota accepted me, i think i am going to minnesota.
I messed up badly last semester, my gpa dropped from 3.7 to 3.4:( maybe that is why i can’t make it.

does anyone know when people who are in the process of finishing up 30 hours this spring find out about their acceptance?

roazidd, we find out at the end of May or early June.

thanks for the quick response! i wish you the best of luck

roazidd

When I transferred after spring 08 semester, I hand delivered my transcript to UT. I was notified of my acceptance exactly 2 weeks to the day after that. Get your transcript in to them as quickly as possible so you can end this waiting game.

I just got the most ridiculous financial aid package in the world.

26k in loans a year man? come on…

So has anyone else found out?

and zircushio, that really does suck.

Wow…I was told two weeks ago that no decisions had been made for transfer applicants.
I don’t know what that person was smoking…haha

Well, I have a 4.0
18 completed credits
18 in progress
Wrote both required essays, and an optional
3 letters of recommendation
Some volunteer work
and, I’ve already been accepted to the music school. Just haven’t heard from general admissions.

oh i lied…its 20k a semester… so 40k in loans a year… who can afford that? i mean, honestly… come on.

$40,000 in loans a year!?!?! It is hard to believe the UT financial aid officers could suggest with a straight face that you could take out $40,000 in loans a year. Ridiculous.

The University of Minnesota is very nice.

em.dizzle09 how were you accepted to ut already if you havent complete 30 hours yet?

She’s been accepted to the school of music, but not UT general admissions - that can happen.

People have actually been known to be accepted to Plan 2, but not have heard from UT admissions yet.

Yeah, it’s because I auditioned in February.
The school of music has nothing to do with general admissions though.

I read somewhere that they said they needed more new students in the school of music, so that bodes well for you.

MidwestMom do you have any suggestions for how I can tell them if theyre actually serious about the 40k in loans thing?

Try going to the Financial Aid forum and posting a question there. Some of the parents who read that area of college confidential have worked as financial aid officers or know a lot about financial aid.

Nvm… (found the answer in this extremely long thread)

any body else hear back
