Official Fall Transfer 2009

i’m guessing a 3.63 in molecular biology isn’t that amazing to get into UT? all i keep hearing about is 4.0’s and stuff :/

Not necessarily, Kids worrying about getting in with 4.0s are either paranoid or harboring some other big deterrent on their applications. Having a 4.0 makes you all but a shoe-in.

Having anything above a 3.5 is excellent, 3.65 in Cell/Mol bio is very excellent. There are some tough courses in that curriculum (I am also a Cell/Mol Bio major), though I’ve heard UT will prefer you retake/take many of the more advanced courses with them (Organic Chem, Microbio etc) But while a 3.65 isn’t a shoe-in, it’s darned good. And if your transferring in from another Texas school, you should definitely be way up in the running.

How important is a letter of rec? I asked my english professor from last semester to write me one 3 months ago which she said she would, only I found out today she never sent it.

:D why thank you. i hope we both get in! its good to see optimism on boards like these.

How do you think that comes in effect with being out of state? Maybe i do need a 4.0 afterall! :(

lets hope today is the day

The waiting is driving me crazy!!! Why is it taking so long?

they wanna test our patience :P
