topawala, are you instate as well?

Just wanted to offer what input I could to those still waiting replies:

I honestly didn’t think I was that strong a candidate, my GPA isn’t even a 3.5 currently thanks to a “C” semester in chemistry. I’m transferring from an OOS school, so though I’m a Texas resident I’m sure you guys that are Texas residents plus Texas students should be a bonus. I didn’t have any recommendation letters sent in, and outside of work experience my resume wasn’t above and beyond.

Don’t sweat it guys, I’m sure you’ll hear the good news soon. Just keep your head up, I’m rooting for you guys now!

tmccormi, what was your gpa and what school did you get into? Thats great you got accepted

zircushio: yep i am instate.

and good luck to the rest of you who are still waiting.

I got into the Liberal Arts College (English) with a current 3.45

I also had completed 42 hrs at the University of Arkansas before this spring semester started for what it’s worth

when abouts in the day did you guys find out (if you have been checking as obsessively as the rest of us)

i guess they judge out of staters last :(

i checked mine at 7:05 in the evening. but before that i checked it at 1 in the afternoon. so they posted it between 1pm-7pm for me.

My boyfriend was accepted as a transfer from ACC. Second choice major, BA Psychology in College of Liberal Arts. 3.5 GPA. Don’t have other stats…sorry! :(

Congrats to everyone! And good luck in the fall! If you want any orientation tips, see my other thread! :)

Do you think a 3.5 would be good enough for a BS in Psychology rather than a BA?

ACCEPTED!!!

First Choice:
College of Natural Sciences (Sometime between Midnight and 2:30am? What??)

Stats:
3.49 GPA Austin Community College (With 2 withdrawals bumps me down to a 3.34 or something very close to that as I found out when I spoke in person with an admissions advisor. Apparently UT Austin examines Grade Average over Hours attempted, versus Hours completed Changes their GPA scheme a bit compared to say A.C.C.)

80+ Credit hours taken

2 Strong Letters of reccomendation

Both required Essays

Resume: Full time employed, with a long-held job (Shows stability)

Some Volunteer work (nothing really big)

I also wrote a supplemental letter to the admissions comittee taking time to make a semi-formal address to them about myself detailing potential anomalies and other strange things that may appear on my application.

I was blown away to see the decisions made at such an odd hour, and thankful to god that all my prayers and hard work paid off.
Thank you all for the support and intel this board has provided, and Good Luck to the rest of you awaiting decisions!!

ACCEPTED!!! 3.6 gpa college of natural science!! 125 hours, AS in meteorology, 6 yrs active duty in the us airforce and alot of volunteer work.

Congratulations all you future Longhorns!!!

macelvoxx, are you going to go to A&M or UT? Weren’t you kind of leaning toward A&M? I think that was you.

ACCEPTED!
3.64 GPA with 48 credits
Biology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry
College Of Natural Sciences
and i’m from NEW JERSEY!!! WOO

Congratulations to everyone!

Congrats Zircushio!
Looks like we get to bust our butts together at UT!

did you fill out the housing? or thinking about renting/dorming someplace else? i feel like filling out the housing application might be a waste since their dorms will all be packed :/

Yeah, I’m not going to, I was considering Getting a dorm just to have someplace down on campus to stay. But it’s really not worth it to me.

I live in an apartment in Round Rock,TX. I live pretty much next to Dell’s headquarters. That puts me literally right next to I-35 and only a 15-20 min drive from Campus.

But in your case, I would definitely fill it out. Can’t really hurt, and if they do have a dorm available for you, all the better. If not, there are apartments nearby, and always people looking for roomates.

oh and btw, i took a look at the transcript thing, a B+ counts as a B? :(
