***Official February 2015 SAT Makeup (US ONLY) THREAD***

I filled 1.75 pages and my examples were solid but I can’t remember if I finished my thesis or not because I had two words to fill in at the end and I can’t remember if I did or not. If I didn’t, it reads something like "Individuals can only think freely when they learn to set aside their no longer relevant loyalties and embrace only … "

It would be really bad if I left my thesis unfinished… totally destroy my whole writing score…

how many tests have you taken? if this is your last shot really think carefuly

This was my first SAT

Oh bro you’re fine. what are you a junior or sophomore?

Junior but I don’t know if I’ll get all the mc right like I might have in writing again it was an easy writing section and to screw it up with the essay would be awful

Should I retake a 2220 if it is my second time taking the SATs. I got an 800 math, 740 reading, and 680 writing. All of my scores improved this time but I’m wondering if my writing is a little bit low for top schools

@TheSATsSuck What are your practice test scores like- do you have a solid chance of getting at least 70 points above 2220?

Retake it if you normally score 2300s, but if you normally score in the 2200’s, you may be taking a chance of getting a lower or the same score, which doesn’t look that good

that’s probably what I would do

@therealbeyonce‌ I have never scored this high on a practice test. However, I prepared a lot for my first test and got a 2020 but didn’t prepare at all for this test and I increased my score by 200 points. I think my reading and math scores are fine but I’m worried about my writing score

@TheSATsSuck If you could improve your writing score that would be great, because you’re right- a 680 is not best for top schools. If you’re banking more on SAT then GPA, you definitely want a higher score. If your GPA and app is amazing, I don’t think you should worry about it. I mean, there are a lot of factors that go into being accepted of course.

Again, I think that if you truly believe you can improve your score, take it again. If you are unsure about what you may get, don’t take it again. It definitely is not worth going for a third try if it gets you a decreased, the same, or slightly increased score.

If the issue with your writing score is the essay, that can be a little bit harder to bring up. But if your issue is the multiple choice, with practice, its REALLY easy to bring you score up. If you practice the multiple choice for writing you can definitely improve, and in that case I would retake it.

My superscore’s now up to 2320, but my single-sitting is still at 2240 (and this time I actually went down 10 points.) Suggestions?

@therealbeyonce‌ Thank you for your insight. I don’t think I’ll take it again because at best I would only be able to improve a little bit. I think the rest of my application is okay/good and I’m tired of standardized tests

If you guys were wondering, I compared the scores to a bunch of different curves, and the writing curve seems to be closest to this:

@therealbeyonce‌ thanks

2250

CR: 670
Writing: 790
Math: 790

Overall, I’m satisfied, although could have been better for reading and but what the heck, I sucked at CR anyway.
Thank god math curve was -1 = 790. 2250 was my minimum threshold I was aiming for to be content so I guess I’m ok.

also, rumour has it they used the same exact test as the january 24th and the feb 21st makeup?

whats considered an “improvement”?
10 points i know isn’t and a 100 point is way too hard at the 2200 mark.

@alpha525‌ so I know you guys took the SAT on February 7th, but when did you guys get the scores back? Im trying to predict if my scores are coming more quickly than normal or in 2 weeks like a normal test.

we got them back on the 19th

@alpha535 Do u know the right answer for Madagascar writing question ?
