***Official February 2015 SAT Makeup (US ONLY) THREAD***

@TheSATsSuck No problem! haha i know right- im so sick of SATs and ive only taken them once so far.

@alpha525 When you’re at the 2200 mark, I would consider improvement to 2270 or maaaayyybee 2250 enough to take it again.

but take that advice with a grain of salt - that’s what I would do, but everyone is different in terms of the score they need and how much they need it

Hope that helps

@NJparent2000 its alpha525 and what was the madagascar question again? i think it was the one with a semicolon

the answer was Having seperated from Africa, Madagascar …

something like that

Also for the car question is it delete or buying used cars and buying new cars?

delete

Yay thanks@alpha525. Got 1 writing wrong. If 10 on essay will i get 800 still?

Is the for example answer choice had a hyphen in it for the car lemon question? I remember picking the choice with a hyphen.

@NJparent2000‌ which question did you get wrong?

Madagascar one

@NJparent2000‌ maybe but probably 790

Did the answer to car lemon question have a hyphen in it?

I think it was like " For example, a caresalesmen may try to sell you a lemon- a car that …"

Thanks @vmiller7723 all I remember that that was the only choice which had a hyphen in it. Hope I’m right or else I’ll end up taking SAT again.

@NJparent2000‌ I hope that I put that and its right also thats the only one I’m not very sure I put the right answer down. I really need 800 on the MC because I dont feel my essay was strong.

Based on curve discussions for march 2011 it looks like 1 wrong in MC and 10 on essay is 800

@NJparent2000‌ nice… what essay score can you get to maintain an 800 with all MC right

9 minimum

I literally cannot wait for my scores. Just a quick question, is there any chance my essay was off topic? The prompt was whether I believed that loyalty could cloud judgment and prevent free thinking. I argued that loyalty can fetter free thought when loyalty is based solely on habit and not on any real conviction or purpose. Then for my example I talked about how the power of the great roman empire corrupted Julius Caesar but many of his generals did not act in any way because of their extreme loyalty to the emperor. They just habitually agreed with Caesar’s decisions because he was the emperor rather than question his ways as they should of has his assistants. Eventually Caesar’s belligerent action as king put the empire in jeopardy and only when these generals and assistants to the king could set aside their loyalties to reproach the king and no longer just follow his decisions blindly could the Roman empire be preserved…

@vmiller7723‌ That is not off topic. I’m not the best writer and I got a 9. Your example was better than mine so you’ll probably get AT LEAST a 10.
