Official Financial Aid Letters

Just noticed the Fin Aid site is updating, and they removed the verbiage that said they expect to start awarding in July.

Anyone receive theirs?

Mine says “System is updating. Return in 15 minutes”. I hope we find out soon :-)

I checked mine right now and the official financial aid letter was posted! It should be the same for you guys as well.

Nothing for me yet! Rushmore, did you click on the “Financial Aid Award” tab? I’m anxious!

I got mine, and I must say, I’m relieved.

Nothing for me yet omg  did you guys get an email telling you to check?

Does anyone want to share how much they got and their parents income? My parents make around 62,000 and I got 18K in FAFSA

Acoustickitty, I didn’t get an e-mail from then. I actually went to the UCSB financial aid website itself and checked. Lo and behold, it was posted.

My parents make 40k a year, and I received 22k in aid. Definitely satisfied.

Mine still has not posted, either.

@iamaspork: Thanks for the response :-)Are you a freshman or a transfer?

There was no email sent out. You just have to go to the financial aid page and sign in. You will be lead to a page that asks you to choose whether you want disbursement of your financial aid or not. After you make a decision, you will be sent to the official financial aid letter. I don’t remember the exact steps I took but it was along those lines.

@rushmore: I went through those steps. I picked YES but still no FAFSA. I’m sure it’ll be up by the end of this month.

^, I’m in the same boat.

I am not understanding the question about the disbursement and I picked no. This is what I get on my aid letter : -

" You chose not to authorize the payment of other charges on your UCSB BARC account with Title IV Financial Aid funds

Title IV Financial Aid funds will only credit towards those charges allowed by Federal law. It is your responsibility to pay any remaining charges on your BARC account each quarter. Failure to meet the fee payment deadline each quarter will result in late fees and may result in being dropped from your classes.

Acoustickitty123 you say you picked YES. Is that what I should have done too? Please help as I am not sure if I should have said YES too.

I don’t remember what the question was…but I remember wanting random fees to be charged on my BARC account. I picked YES for the heck of it honestly haha. I don’t think picking NO would make a diff other than having to pay the fees charged some where other than your BARC ACCOUNT

Thanks Acoustickitty. I guess that’s what I should do too as I want whatever fees I have to be charged on my BARC account. That way it would be easier to keep track of. I am going to change it to YES too.

No problem  good idea! It was a confusing question so I think YES would be better

What types of students are those of you who have received a letter (freshman, transfer, continuing, etc)?

I believe those who have received their FAFSA are Freshmen. I’m a transfer and still haven’t received my FAFSA. @EggyHam: Are you a transfer? or a freshman?
