So how much did you get and did you think it was fair?

Total $ = 28,000

No, I think I qualified for much more aid than what BC is giving me.

So how much did you get and did you think it was fair?

No, I think I qualified for much more aid than what BC is giving me.

I think it's common knowledge that BC does not give a lot out in financial aid. They've got money, they just aren't giving it.

=)

Let be fair here. BC endownment is only $1.4 Billion dollars, and yet it has a need blind admission. This is the smallest endowmment among the 30 institutions who use such policy. It give out $50 millions dollars in financial aid each year (Harvard give out $92 millions and have $30 billions endownment). To me, BC financial aid is pretty dam generous.

I recieved the same as NYU, which is also considered 'stingy'. But on the other hand, a school like Brandeis which is good with financial aid gave me 8,620, BC gave me 5,925. When taking all factors into account the difference between my out of pocket expenses would be around 3 grand a year. Which is nothing big. Had my need been higher, then we would see a greater change among financial aid packages. But when your aid is less than 10 grand a year. A 'good' financial aid package would not be much different than a 'bad' one. Which is good in a way, since i would be paying virtually the same for the schools im considering its more of which college is better and not cheaper.

I only got $5.000, but BC is my first choice so we are going to find a way to do it. Can't wait!

I just got the federal loans and work study. I probably should have gotten a little more...

Aside from federal work study, is it easy to get jobs for students? Or do students have enough time to work while studying?

Does financial aid come with your acceptance?

apparantly i'm missing a form or something. but it's not really a problem, fortunately. I don't imagine i'd get much.

My Financial aid info came in an envelope a week after i was accepted. I was accepted EA and didnt send in forms until i knew i was in.

lets see...i received...nothing from BC....

expected cost of attendance...46K a year...hmm..guess its time to apply for every scholarship in sight....
