omg does anyone have any problem with activating their gt account like me…

Denied

800M2 ,730 PH subject test
Top 15%

Accepted OOS with a 2030 SAT; just to show that the process IS holistic. For future applicants: show that you are a unique individual with aspirations and with assiduity to reach those goals. I believe my essay is what helped me get in.

Accepted OOS, Biomedical Engineering

2230 SAT (superscore)
95/100 gpa
18/185
lots of college credit through dual enrollment (calc 2, diff eq., mech. physics, C++)

My advice: Keep in contact with your regional admissions rep. I sent in two updates via fax and asked questions and admissions was very responsive.

Accepted OOS

Aerospace Engineering
34 ACT
96 GPA Unweighted
Top 10%

Considering GT, have to wait to hear back from other schools.

Best of luck to all in the rest of the admissions process!

Hey what happened to ag999?

my son got into bio-engr, OOS, 34/3.96(UW), 9 APs.

@xnakelx waitlisted! damn it! I know I won’t be going to GA Tech now because aid for OOS, waitlisted students is going to be horrible (even if I get in later). I know that it is because of these over-qualified people who applied to GA Tech just for the sake of applying to another school to be on the safe side, since the supplement is fairly small (I mean why else would the number of applicants increase by 10000!!!). I just need to get into one of my top choices now, and I will be set. Congrats to the people who were accepted! Good luck to all others!

@agg999 Agree with you …Common Ap did us in! It is a little disheartening to read posts from admitted students who state they will probably be going somewhere else. Good luck with your other choices.

I got in:
Instate - 3.311 GPA (however I finished Freshman year with a 2.214…a huge turnaround took place) - 2000 SAT (720 CR, 660 Math, 620 Writing) - Top 20 Highschool Chess player - 10 AP’s - Took courses like Calc BC, Multi-Variable Calculus, Nanotechnology, Physics Electricity and Magnetism etc.
Electrical Engineering is the prospective major

Denied; in state 3.76 GPA for CS. 33 ACT 2060 SAT. Full IB diploma, 17 total AP/IB over HS career. President and lead programmer of robotics team, marching band, and ample community service. Pretty disappointed with the turnouts this year. Thought I had a good chance

what do you think the acceptance rate is this year?

DD was accepted! OOS, 2220 SAT superscored, 3.98 gpa unweighted, decent ECs but no standout leadership or community service. She wants to major in material science engineering. Waiting on about 4 others with April 1 decision dates… Then we’ll be visiting GA Tech and others so she can decide! Would like to know about merit aid offers… I don’t think the email said anything about that. Good luck to everyone on the wait list!

@Hail1616 The EA acceptance rate was 40% and the RD was estimated to be around 20%, so I’m guess the overall rate will be around 30%. I’m waiting for GT to release the official stats though.

Accepted (after deferral)! OOS. CS. SAT 2120. GPA 3.87. SATIIs Math2: 790. APs: 6 of them, all 4s & 5s.

Accepted 2190 SAT, 2360 SAT 2, 5 APs (not a part of school curriculum), School Rank 1 on 247, National Swimmer (with a couple of country records), several leadership positions, apps on the apple app store, research under a reputed professor, other national/international awards, several small projects, scholarships from the government, etc.

Unfortunately, many of the admitted people I know, including me, will not be attending GTech since they have got into/will probably get into a top-notch college. Good part- I am pretty sure most of you on the waitlist will be getting in.

ACCEPTED!!! OOS, Computational Media, ACT 29, GPA 3.8 UW / 4.5 W, ranked 24 out of 456 students, taking the hardest classes available at my school (10 AP’s throughout my whole high school career), very involved in some extracurriculars (leader of youth group, leader of youth group music ministry, leader and arranger for school a cappella club, pianist in band and for choir, varsity tennis, novice programmer, video editor, etc.)

I honestly did not think I would get in since my test scores are lower compared to other people’s. But I guess this goes to show that applications ARE reviewed holistically.

Congrats to everyone else who got in!
