Congrats! Gwannabe would you mind tell us your stats?

I also have been accepted!! I received an email from them saying that they were starting to post decision on the Admissions Activity Center. So I immediately checked and it said that I had been accepted.

stats please!!!

Congrats guys!!

I checked my admissions activity center account and I got this message:

“Thank you for applying to the George Washington University. We regret that the decision regarding your application is not available online. The decision of the Admissions Committee will arrive via postal mail in the next few days.”

That is curious, especially if others are able to view their decisions online.

Pulled this from the USC Decision page. If you were accepted, use this to post your stats! And please preview the post!

That is so odd!! mine still says “under review.”

Okay…I also got accepted today, too! I’ve been lurking this thread since November (when I joined) but never felt the need to discuss anything. Here are my stats:

Accepted - School of Business/International Business

Stats:
[ul]
[] College transferring from: Top Midwestern university
[] Entering as: Sophomore
[] GPA: 3.475
[] Units completed: 27 (low, but I plan on taking extras next year!)

[/ul]Subjective:
[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: National business fraternity member, editor of my high school’s yearbook, VP of my high school’s student body, worked closely with my school’s office of admission
[] Job/Work Experience: Working with my school’s office of admission for a variety of things, student blogger for my school’s university - both are different than usual.
[] Essays (subject and responses): I really wrote to why I was a good fit for GW, and I mentioned a lot of things I discussed with students when I visited campus. My passion for what I saw at GW really showed through in my writing.
[] Letters of Recommendation: Two excellent letters of recommendation. One from a writing professor and one from a business professor, which I am attending the SOB.
[/ul]Other: While my GPA isn’t that great, my letters of rec. and essays were superior. I believe in GW as a university, and my professors really wrote to how passionate I was about attending.
[ul]
[] Other schools applied to: Pace University in NYC & Drexel in Philly (withdrew).
[] Comments: Depending on financial aid I just might end up at GW! I’m SO excited, too! Definitely worth the wait!
[/ul]

Also, I submitted my application in early January. I’m assuming they’re releasing decisions based on the order they were submitted? Just a guess…but keep your head up, guys! The wait is almost over!

@Transfer89 @triumphadc Me too, let’s wait till tomorrow to see if our decisions are going to be posted then.

My application is also still under review. but then again I didn’t submit my application till late march. Woops

Accepted - Columbian College of Arts & Sciences/Interior Architecture and Design

Stats:
[ul]
[] College transferring from: Anne Arundel Community College
[] Entering as: Junior
[] GPA: 3.44
[] Units completed: 81 credits

[/ul]Subjective:
[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: ASID AACC student chapter, MOPS Creative Assistant Coordinator, Nursery assistant at church, various sports in high school, theatre in high school, choral groups in high school.
[] Job/Work Experience: Sales Associate/Cashier/Brand Representative at Pacific Sunwear for 3 years, Sales Associate/Cashier at Aldo Shoes for a year.
[] Essays (subject and responses): Personal statement on why at this point in my academic career I am applying to GW- My response to this question was probably very different than other applicants, since I had explained how I unexpectedly got pregnant during my freshman year of college, though it was scary and I was too young to be a parent, I took responsibility and became even more determined to complete my degree in my passion (interior design). I went on to describe how I wanted to complete my degree to secure a bright future for my son, become a successful addition to our country, and how I would like to be an inspiration to others to work hard and complete their own goals. -In no way did I attempt to make this a “pity me” type of story, but rather just a straight forward response to why I was applying to GW.
[] Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation from interior design professors I have had at AACC, whom all know me and my work fairly well. Although I could not read them, I assume they are wonderful letters.
[/ul]Other:
[ul]
[] Other schools applied to: Marymount University
[] Comments: I also have already completed my associates in this field. I had two slightly rough semesters when I had my son, but only missed two weeks of classes. As soon as I found my balance between schoolwork and being a mother, I have earned straight A’s since. My situation is a very unique one to this university, so I was very worried about my chances of acceptance, but I am very, very excited about being accepted!
[/ul]

still nothing yet…

I really hope that the rest of us find out this upcoming week! It seems that there have been large gaps in the past between when the first round of decisions came out and the second. Also @Fabulous326, I’m really curious as to why you decision could’t be posted online! do you think thats what there going to do for people who have been wait listed? please let us know what ends up happening and good luck!

@trasnfer89 I actually just checked again today to see if there was an update and the system said that my application was “still under review and I would receive a decision in a few weeks”. I wonder what happened.

@Fabulous326 “a few weeks”??!!? a few weeks! I can’t wait a few days, let alone a few weeks. I hope we all hear back this week, I’m getting really frustrated.

I got accepted a few days ago, I’ll be a sophomore economics major. I’m pretty excited and I’ll most likely be attending. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for their decision

I checked today, my application is still under review also. I am expecting to here something by the end of the week.

Has anyone received their financial aid package yet?

Still under review. Damn it.

haha! I actually just randomly checked mine too and it said “under construction” and wouldn’t let me check it! Maybe thats a good sign!!!

^Aha! Let’s hope so! Lol “under construction”. Oh, GW.

I was going to ask - is anyone interested in making or having a Facebook page or group for Fall 2013 transfers? The only one transfer group I found for GW was for Fall 2011. I think NYUers are doing something like that or NYU themselves did something.

Would be a good way to get to know people and find roomates? Unless people want to just leave that up to the freshmen.
