Essays (rating 1-10, details):
Essays were pretty strong (9/10?)
I took a simple idea and made it engaging and talked about who I was as a person… I don’t really remember the GU specific essays but I felt pretty strong about them
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):
Teacher Rec #1: 9/10 An amazing writer who handed out very few A’s and I worked really hard to earn one so she liked me and my work ethic
Teacher Rec #2: 8/10 My Calc BC teacher retired and said she wouldn’t write any recs anymore, so I went to my freshman and sophomore math teacher who liked me but didn’t love me so im not quite sure how it went
Counselor Rec: 10/10 She is my class board sponsor so she has known me for 4 years and we’re really close
Additional Rec: I sent a letter from my school’s principal of student activities talking about my role at my high school and in the community
Interview:
REALLY WELL! she really liked me and I really liked her. Her sons has went there and I was genuinely really fascinated by her stories and I think she was impressed by my resume… It’s really important to be yourself (unless you’re like immature or loud) but interviewers really want to see the person in you and not just hear you list a bunch of activities or test scores. I was very personable and it didn’t even really feel like an interview, more just like we were grabbing lunch somewhere.

Reflection
Strengths: EC’s and GPA, interview and recs,
Weaknesses:My top test scores were good, but having to send all of them if a little intimidating at first… I almost didn’t apply because I thought some of my SAT 2’s weren’t good enough so don’t feel discouraged!, no hooks, my resume is very engineering oriented and I applied to business
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected:
I think they liked my focus on volunteerism that I really focused on throughout my application. I emphasized the idea of businesses having an emphasis on profit but also on making the world a better place
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected:
Accepted: Notre Dame (Mendoza), Fordham, Case Western, Northeastern, Marquette
Waitlisted: WashU, Northwestern
Rejected: No where so far but I’m sure those are coming…
General Comments :
Just never feel discouraged about the application process. I almost didn’t apply to Georgetown because I didn’t wanna go through the separate application, but as it turns out, I fell in love with it a little bit later. No matter our race, gender, income, etc. just give it a shot, and wherever you end up, it’ll be amazing and you’ll have a lot of opportunities.
