A quick question to ease the nerve: What are you guys doing right now?

Hi I’m going to be a freshman in college fall 2013. I love Georgetown and it’s my dream school, but I got rejected.
My GPA in High School is currently 3.7/4.5 (in IB)
SAT was low: 1870/2400
SAT Subject tests: Math II (720), Spanish (800), Literature (500, I took it without studying)

My choices for a college are:
UC Santa Barbara (#43)
U Florida (#51)
Emory University (#20)

I am extremely motivated now and I know that I will be able to do really well where ever I go. The reasons for my bad grades was because of family issues and moving to three different high schools. I’m Greek/Costa Rican. I do rowing and speech and debate. I really want to transfer to Georgetown as soon as possible. Do you think it would be better to apply after two years in one of those universities or in one year? Do you also think I should re-take the SAT or ACT to elevate the score? Which choice of university do you think will strengthen my chances? and do you think they look at CC students better?

I’m studying abroad and we just had midterms so my exams are over (yay) but unfortunately we are a day ahead of the USA so your Friday is my yesterday, aka I have to “wait” longer (not yay).

anyways i applied to SFS (STIA). I applied when I was a hs senior three years ago and was obviously rejected but this time I’m hoping things will be brighter for me. I’ve already been accepted to another university so I’ve got my backup secured but it all boils down to GU’s decision in the next couple of weeks.

Same boat. Godspeed.

it just seems harder and harder getting closer to decision day, some1 can’t even focus on the current classes and exams, I just hope that if were r strong candidates to let us know if not that strong also to let us know now so we can have peace !!!

I emailed the MSB admissions officer inquiring about the application status, but he replied " if we need anything, we’ll be in touch"…>:-(

jay327, did you email MSb adm or did you call them? and what does he mean will get in touch, did u ask about status or inquiring about if your docs are complete???

I wrote him an email regarding the status on my application…

Urgent question! Did any of you guys who applied to frosh resend your SAT score?

yes i sent my SAT score again.

I understand last year decisions were sent out through email first, is that expected again?

jay327, what major at the MSB are applying to?, what school u r attending know???

@NOVAtransfer2013, International Business, montgomery college

okay I just called gtown’s office of admissions and they told me that if any materials were missing they would have emailed me by now, so I guess I answered my own question there. however they said that emails would still be going out in the next two weeks regarding incomplete applications, but the person I spoke to said she could not discuss individual claims. woops. I hope all of my forms are in but I’m still worried at this point

well it seems that decisions won’t get out till mid May ??? I don’t like it but still better than June !!! what u guys think???

I currently have a 3.85 GPA at my current university. Is this good enough for transferring to Georgetown?

I just want this wait to be over soon! By the way, if we get accepted, can we register for classes immediately afterwards? or there’s an orientation that we have to attend? I’m also worried about signing up for classes.

Looks like no one was accepted today.

^ Or perhaps the decisions weren’t released at all.
Do you think we will get anything during the weekends?

^lol Yea, that was what I was trying to say. I doubt there will be anything coming out during the weekend, since most Admission Officers don’t work on weekends. I’m guessing that we will start seeing acceptance emails coming in next week.
