Official Georgetown transfer thread fall 2013

Hoya, what were your stats?

Hi guys, haha yeah I am not lying no worries “IJustWantIn”. I am from DC. And I am a girl fyi. Umm I previously applied to Georgetown and got in but went somewhere else and didn’t like it. I think my SATs were 2230, graduated second in my class, high school GPA + than 4.0. College GPA was a 3.7 with a wide range and level of classes. Applied to MSB as a junior (if enough credits transfer).

I told them that I would 100% go if I was accepted so that probably help me out.

I also got my acceptance letter in the mail today; no email. Postmark was May 2 and the date on the letter was May 1. I live in MD so the rest of you should be getting something soon. I also applied as a current freshman for NHS (previously waitlisted).

I don’t know why they switched from email to snail mail for domestic US residents…

Is the acceptance letter a big package or just an envelope?

Small white envelope

I am thinking about sending a midterm report even though Georgetown doesn’t require one. I might as well; I have to send it to other schools. However, I’m not sure if 6 A’s and 1 B+ will put me in a disadvantaged position.

Hope not! I sent in all As with one B+ haha

I don’t think there’s any point in sending a midterm report. They’ve probably already read your application. They won’t backtrack for an additional document.

@skateme agreed. additional information only really helps waitlisted candidates.

I haven’t even received a reply email pertaining to my “missing” HS transcripts. Crap.

Just got my acceptance letter in the mail. I live in Maryland and applied to MSB as a sophomore transfer.

I live in DC too, and am going to check my mail box now…

is your permanent address in the DMV area, or do you study in the DMV area

Maryland is my permanent address. I go to school near Atlanta

@NewHoya, what were your stats? I also applied to MSB as a sophomore.

Btw, if you don’t mind sharing, what college do you go to? I’m near Atlanta too!

I was one of the top ten people in my graduating high school class and I had a 2130 SAT: 720 math, 720 reading, 690 writing. I currently have a 4.0 at Emory

Has anyone applying to SFS heard yet?

Any msb junior transfer get accepted so far??

@playyourpart nope, what major did you apply as? Based of last year’s thread, usually MSB decisions come out first

@stayheadstrong Culture and Politics

this wait is agonizing
