OFFICIAL Georgetown University Class of 2014 RD Applicants

I don't think this thread exists yet, so here we go. I'll get things started:

I'm from India, lived in Singapore practically my whole life. Applying to the SFS, intending to study International Political Economy.

I’m applying to the business school and was deferred early action

I’m from Beirut, Lebanon and I have no clue what I’m applying to. I’m so lost. What’s the difference between SFS and georgetown college. I mean which is better? I’m considering a future with in international relations but I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t submitted anything yet! Does anyone know what the essay questions are? I applied to Yale EA and got deferred, but Georgetown is definitely one of my top choices. So, any advice would be helpful!

I applied early and got deferred, but from my research I can tell you that if you’re interested in Intl Relations, you should apply to SFS. It’s one of the best out there. the essay questions are different for every college of Georgetown, but you can find them by downloading the .PDF version of the application.

Applying to the college- Georgetown is my first choice.
I’m focusing on international relations and political science, but want to apply to the college to keep my options open- I’m also interested in environmental science.
I hope applying to the college wasn’t a mistake… lol.
Are we supposed to put resumes here or something? :P

Georgetown is most definitely my first choice school. I’m applying to the SFS. Seems like everyone is too.
ArceaSon applying to the college wasn’t a mistake. You can always transfer between colleges if you feel like it. :]

^I’d imagine that it’s a lot tougher to transfer into SFS than the other way around.

I’m applying to the SFS too. It would be really high on my list if I weren’t a realist who knows just how tough it is to get accepted.

applied EA, deferred
was seriously considering SFS, but didn’t want to focus on international exclusively
applied Government-GU College instead

another deferred ea-er. my fingers will be crossed until april. :/

Does anyone know how many RD apps Georgetown received for the class of 2014? Many other U’s have publicized a significant increase but I can’t find anything on Georgetown.

Actually surrinath, that’s not true. Transferring from the college to sfs is apparently common.

Another deferred EAer for McDonough here!

Listen to stop your sobbing from the pretenders and you will fee better.

Helloooo I’m from Connecticut, and I applied to the College (Bio) after getting deferred from Yale SCEA. While Gtown is not my top choice, it’s certainly somewhere that I can see myself attending :)

My attitude is the same. I did, however, apply to the SFS so it’ll be a hard option to turn down if I am (somehow) accepted. SFS’s reputation, my interest in international affairs in general (the STIA concentration at SFS in particular) and the D.C. location all make Georgetown immensely appealing.

does anyone know when the rd decisions are posted and where?
can’t find anything on it…

They are by snail mail only.

students without an american mailing address will get an email by 4-1 followed up by a letter. american residents get a letter by 4-1.

i’m really nervous… anyone care to post up stats?
