[] Likely Letter Yes/No: Clearly not

[/ul]Other Factors: Had a fantastic interview, interviewer said he would give me the highest recommendation possible.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc: I don’t mean to sound arrogant here…but can someone explain to me why I wasn’t at least wait-listed?? This was one of my top schools.

**Decision: Waitlisted **

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT Verbal: 800
[] SAT Math: 800
[] SAT Writing: 790
[] SAT Total: 2390
[] SAT II: Math 2 (780), Math 1 (740), Literature (720)
[] ACT: N/A
[] AP/IB taken/scores: Philosophy SL (6), Math SL (6), taking an HL in each of the subject areas this year (only student on campus doing this)
[] GPA weighted: N/A
[] GPA unweighted: ~3.78
[] Rank or % estimate: borderline top 5%

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: Good enough. Talked about growing up in a dichotomous environment, Yearbook, and my passion for educational reform
[] Teacher Recs: Waived Rights. My IB Junior His teacher wrote one; my IB Junior Eng teacher wrote a supplementary rec
[] Counselor Rec: Waived Right.
[] Hook (if any): For my other schools, my “hook” was that I’m a former ESL student who won national writing awards… but Georgetown doesn’t really look at awards and I couldn’t figure out how to send them in anyways (really regret that, and not applying EA)

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: WA
[] School Type: Public, about 600 students
[] Ethnicity: ORM - Asian
[] Gender: Female
[] Legacy Yes/No: No
[] Recruited Yes/No: No
[] Important ECs: Yearbook, clubs that I founded
[] Likely Letter Yes/No: No

[/ul]Other Factors: Georgetown definitely seems to look strongly upon interviews. Mine was awesome, I have to say. :stuck_out_tongue: I definitely should have applied EA (I marked that I was going to, then I didn’t… might have detracted from indication of my “interest”). I also did not send in information about my awards. On the whole, I am actually pretty pleased because I’m an Asian girl trying to get into Georgetown who made a lot of mistakes in the application process, but was waitlisted anyways.

I genuinely expected to be rejected outright. As you can tell, my GPA and rank are pretty low. Of course I would’ve loved an acceptance (probably would’ve gone, too) but it’s off to the waitlist for me!

General Comments/Congratulations/etc: Congrats to everyone who got in. :)
