[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Hawaii

[] Recruited Yes/No: No
[] Important ECs: Student Association, LDSC, NHS, PAAC, Leo Club
[] Likely Letter Yes/No: No

[/ul]Other Factors:
I like to think the the important factors were my involvement in strong leadership ECs, starting my own AP Stats class, an my great interview, but…
I’m thinking that there is an under representation of Hawaii public school students at Georgetown. I was talking to my interview and all the Punahou and Iolani (Prestigious Private Schools in Hawaii) usually get in, not much from the public schools so I think that played a part.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:
I hope I serve as an inspiration that College Admission Exams are obstacles that CAN be overcome, no matter what institution you apply! But regardless, good job to everyone and congrats to those who got in!

ebaniaga… why is ur w gpa lower than your uw?

SORRY! I misread it, I was too excited/shocked to even think correctly!

PUMPED is the only way to describe my feeling. Even more so considering I was deferred in December! yay dunno for sure if im going but very excited right now

Deffered then rejected.
Math 720, CR 700, Writing 780
SAT IIs: 660 (Physics) 710 English, 730 Math I
AP’s: 6 with this year (8 max at my school)
Rank: 33/600
Upstate NY, Hispanic Female
NHS, Math, English, Science, Social Studies Honor Societies, Girl Scouts (Gold Award), written 3 novels

This is my first rejection (two to come tomorrow most likely), but I didn’t feel too bad about it. I gave up on Georgetown back in December, especially since I found out it has a history of not accepting people from my school with better stats than those accepted from neighboring schools.
Congrats to all who got in.

Deferred then Rejected. Also my first rejection. Was my first choice, but also expected the rejection because Gtown only accepts one person from my school on a good year and they accepted someone early action. Oh well. :frowning: I cant wait to get rejected from Yale and Princeton tomorrow. Congratulations to everyone who got in!!! Seriously, thats awesome!

DECISION ACCEPTED GC !!!

[] ECs listed on app: Violin, Knowledge Bowl, Youth Commission; Hospital Volunteer; Track; Journalism Internship; DECA
[] Job/Work Experience: None
[] Essays (subject and responses): I thought it was pretty good, but since everywhere that I applied with this essay to has rejected me so far…it probably wasn’t that great.
[] Teacher Recs: One exceptional. One good.
[] Counselor Rec: Er…decent, I guess.
[] Applied on: Common Application?
[] Hook (if any): None
[/ul]
