Since the freshman already heard, by the way I wish you all the best of luck if you got into Georgetown or not. Don't worry if you didn't guys I was rejected last year too and it sucks, but eventually something will go your way.

But anyway here is the transfer thread and lets keep it going guys. It's a rough road ahead of us!

Hey hey…I am waiting too…I called the school and she was gonna read me my letter, but then she realized I am a transfer. I have my alumni interview tomorrow though. Get this, he is an attorney that specializes in health care, and I work for a health care private practice. Matter of fact, his managing partner is the attorney for my company! I wish the interview mattered more

Cool. I am dyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg waiting. hahaha…we do need to keep this thread going and have some others too. I had my interview two weeks ago and it went very well. Hope the same goes for you

hellosss I also applied to transfer and super anxious about the results [hopefully they’re good]!!
anyway, what school did you apply to craintrain?

hey everyone, i’m applying for the college as a sophomore…glad someone made this, i need something to procrastinate with this wait is going to be brutal

i looked through the transfer thread from 08 and it looks like the first acceptance there was may 5…so if we’re lucky it could be as soon as a month!!!

I had my interview today, me and him are the same age interestingly enough. It went well, was only about 30 minutes and we exchanged cards. I thought it went well. I agree though that this is gonna be a long brutal wait. They don’t waitlist transfers do they? I think transfers might have to submit their final transcripts also, and that might actually help boost the gpa a couple points

Final transcripts are for credit evaluation purposes only, not grades unfortuantely. Let’s keep this thread alive. Let’s start by saying what we love about Georgetown

I have my interview next Tuesday with a fairly recent grade ('99). Lo and behold, she was a transfer student too.

I have never personally visited Georgetown, but am excited by the prospect of trying-out for a D1 baseball team should I get admitted (currently play D3 baseball at a small, LAC) and the opportunities are seemingly boundless for political consulting internships in DC.

Why is everybody else applying to transfer?

Well the website says everyone has to do an interview unless waived. I would call the admissions office to check. It won’t hurt you, and its good to ask some questions to someone who went there.

I like Georgetown because of the name, first and foremost. Georgetown on your resume looks great. I love DC, I grew up in and around the city and I love it. And for the programs that they offer, to be able to take advantage of the internships and opportunities that DC has to offer is unparalleled.
I am also 28 with no wife and kids, so I have a chance to really go anywhere for school without regard for anyone else being inconvenienced, so why not go somewhere that I want to go as opposed to somewhere I have to go?

canzior, are you positive transfers have to have interviews? i think it is only required of incoming freshmen.

i live in nc and have not been contacted for an interview, in fact, i haven’t been contacted at all by georgetown since the email of my app being submitted. is anyone else in a similar boat?
