I just checked DD’s Buzzport account, the decision was already posted- she was ACCEPTED! ChemE major. But, I don’t think the PS first round decisions will be released until Monday.

[] Strengths: I’ve taken a hard course load… Good SAT scores. I dunno.
[li] Weaknesses: My gpa is low, my AP scores are lower than I’d like. Kind of a result of spreading myself too thin junior year with 7 APs. My essays were… amusingly bad.[/li][/ul]General Comments: My advice is don’t worry too much about the essays because I would not have gotten accepted if they were very important. My other advice is don’t put off writing essays as long as I did anyway. I almost didn’t get the application submitted on time because I was literally typing out an essay until 11:45ish on deadline night. Good luck everyone!

Yay + I’m very sleepy right now so you might notice my incoherent rambling. But anyway, advice: write awesome essays that reflect your character, and make sure you don’t have any careless typos before you submit your app! I made one, and I became overly nervous for a few days. It’s a crappy position to be in. Sleepy…Good luck guys!

Hooks: first generation, female in engineering
Reflection:
-Strengths: Extra curricular activities, essay
-Weaknesses: GPA, did slightly worse in AP classes than Honors/CP classes.
-General Comments: Prior to admissions, I was really discouraged by what I saw on college confidential. The applicants that accepted had some really awesome stats; thus, I felt as if I wasn’t going to get in. For those of you applying regular decision, take these stats with a grain of salt. Don’t get discouraged/overly confident with yourself. Best of luck to all!

People on CC exaggerate their stats and spread a lot of bad information as if it’s fact. I would say this entire forum should be taken with a grain of salt. For whatever reason, people get off on exaggerating their stats and discouraging others. People with lower stats are also pretty discouraged from posting their stats, so it looks like the only people getting in are extremely well qualified. Congratulations on your acceptance, I am sure it is well deserved :)
