@silverdrop are you in georgia?
My D got into Honors. It was not expected and a nice surprise.
@bengalmombengal are you guys from georgia?
@TodaysEinstein no, I am OOS.
We are in state.
Were the Honors program acceptees notified by email?
Email.
My D got into Honors as well and we are OOS and she has the Provost so now this is getting even more exciting but also a bit scary. I don’t think she will know her decision by April 1st as she is waiting on three other schools and has a completely free ride to any school in Florida including UF so this is really tough!
Congrats to all. For those waitlisted does anyone know where waitlist will fall in terms of these graduating offers for GC. EA candidates have to decide by 4/1. Will they then offer to RD or will waitlist happen prior to RD invitations?
What are the chances of getting off the waitlist for GC and honors?
When do our financial aid packages come out and when do we hear back from the alumni association scholarships?
In response to GP and HP waitlists: people definitely do get off them. I can’t tell you how many first round acceptance people will take their spots this year, but I do know last year there were multiple rounds of acceptances for GC at the very least. Next year, both programs are filling entire dorms (currently HP freshman are just a few floors) so they should continue acceptances until they fill those dorms entirely.
So I guess we presume if not invited to date, kids are second (or third or fourth) tier candidates awaiting others to drop out? Does HP have an official wait list like GC.
Right, they are moving all the 2nd through 4th year Honors students out of North Avenue Apartments and moving them to the west side of the campus to a dedicated dorm. Of course those that don’t want to move don’t have to but then they are mixed in with the general crowd. Most Honors students seem to want to stay together since they were all together as Freshmen and know most of each other
in 2013, about 50% of the Honors program kids were from Georgia, about 48% from other States.
What are my chances guys?
I know they superscore the ACT and SAT using their conversion table
SAT CR = ACT E = 30/36
SAT M = ACT M = 35/30
SAT W = ACT E/W = 660/800
Thats about 2100 out of 2400 according to the conversion table.
Im OOS and I have unique Community Service ECs and I have done internships with several companies and 1 of them was in Spain. (I’m an Indian) My school GPA is A1 which is anything above 91%
Please chance me! Thanks!
@JANSAT2400
i think you have very good chances - asian will hurt you as it will to anyone - are u international
did u get accepted by UCSD
Nopes my composte was too low for UCSD. Im glad Gatech doesn’t see that. @whateverharvard
@JANSAT2400
i wish you the best of luck
Thank you and same to you
2200 is about the average SAT for those accepted in the Early Action group but no info on regular decision yet. Generally a little lower by no more than 100 points. 10% of the admitted students are international. About 60% come from Georgia and 98% of those Georgia kids have the Hope Scholarship - Free Tuition for having a B or better average. All Georgia students at GT have pretty much an A average coming in. Then the average drops to about a 3.2 GPA first year. One of the only states I know that gives free tuition for a B average. You still have to pay for Room and Board however, unless you are a Presidential Scholar who get everything free but only 50 out of 2800 get that.
