General Comments/Advice/Hindsight:
Extremely happy about getting into Georgia Tech!! Hopefully, their financial aid package comes through because my parents definitely want me to attend UConn, but the opportunities a school like Georgia Tech can provide makes the school extremely desirable. Congrats to those accepted!!

Some here are saying GT looks only at test scores but I got in to ChemE despite having an SAT score of 2040 (superscored 2070). Your classes, essays, letter of recs, and extracurriculars can make up for it!!!

Kiddo was accepted to GA Tech. But unlike the UC’s where he’s also been accepted - I don’t see the anticipated cost shown anywhere on buzzport. Where do you find the proposed cost, any awards etc. ??

@patertrium‌ I don’t think scholarships and awards are given out yet for RD, they say they’ll come before mid April. All I can find is the estimated base cost, which is on their website (45k OOS)

pretty stoked, definitely one of my top choices.

Any female applicants got an email from women’s recruitment?

@univa9 No, what did it say?

@Maxie97 Oh I geuss its because of feminism related essay then. They invited me to join their team

Waitlisted. 35M, 35E, 12 essay. 3.7ish gpa. Decent recs and essays and all that jazz. Varsity sport for 4 yrs and 100hrs community service. Lifeguard and other ECs. I don’t get why all these white people think it’s so hard to get into these types of colleges because of their race. Try being Asian, way harder.

@AlbertCollege‌ I have pretty similar stats; 34M, 34E. 3.75 GPA, 200+ volunteer hours, school clubs, etc. and I’m Asian/Indian

Kiddo got accepted to GA Tech Comp Sci. How do you find out your final price of attendance? Does that come with the a to-come snail mail packet?

@Patertrium Probably not with the acceptance packet, but your kid should get a financial aid award letter in Buzzport/email in mid-April

@univa9 I got that email too. I think that they might only send it to the engineering applicants though?

@z0e101 I see you are correct! Thank you. http://www.finaid.gatech.edu/freshman

Quick question about academics here:

If I decide to go to Tech, can I create my own major, like Neuroscience? I’m debating between Tulane, which does have this program, and Tech, which does not list it on its website. I’m thinking of going a medical route at some point.

Any responses are appreciated.

Has anyone gotten their official acceptance package yet?
