Hey guys, with decision in less than 24 hours, i thought it’d be time to put this up. Good luck! dont forget to post results!
30 more minutes. Goodluck to everyone!

34 ACT
3.78W GPA
8 APs
Top 10 school In State
Multiple ECs with leadership roles
Asian male
Comp sci major
Was expecting at least a deferral since I got accepted early action from UGA but oh well…
Tech doesn’t need any more Asians/CS majors I guess haha.
Congrats to everyone else!
I’ll see you all in a few years when I transfer to Tech.
^^
Similar case here. I was at least expecting a deferral. Will edit in full stats later, but:
2180 SAT score
9 APs
3.70 GPA
Multiple ECs outside of school, especially with charity/community service
Asian, male, in-state.
Applied to Scheller College of Business.
I was also expecting a deferral if things didn’t work out, not a flat out rejection. UGA also early-accepted me. But congratulations to those got in during the early action rounds!

I’ll post for my two younger sisters who applied this year. Oh! Also, I’m thinking about making a post tomorrow about (my experiences with) Tech life, being deferred/accepted/summer session’d, undergrad research, co-op program, study abroad, safety, housing, etc. Maybe it’d help clear up any questions y’all have. This site helped me way back in the day and has helped my sisters, so it’d be nice to give back. Does this sound ok?
My grammar may not be the best, I’m very excited for my sisters
Ok so sister #1:

Hooks: double legacies, in contact (kind of) with cheerleading coach at Tech

Subjective
Essays: Some of my first, so not my best. Kind of cliché and dragged out on the main essay, but it was pretty good. The supplement was ok, could’ve come off as cliché but I put in some original ending sentences that I thought would captivate them. 7/10
Teacher Recs: 1. Math Teacher: 9/10. Had him for first two years of high school. Got 100 all his regents and was his top student. 2. AP US Teacher: 11/10. Wrote the greatest recommendation ever. Included stuff outside of his classroom, and although he only knew me for a year he thinks very highly of me (which I am grateful for).
Counselor Rec: Didn’t know her well at the time, but it was probably ok.
Supplementary Material: Don’t remember. Don’t think I submitted anything supplementary.
Hook(recruited athlete, legacy, Nobel Prize): Nothing. I took up an internship at the WTC, that must’ve helped. Also was a volunteer worked at a hospital and applied to Biomedical Engineering (although I will probably do something in aerospace or nuclear).
Personal
Location: New York
High School Type: Private
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender Male
Extracurriculars: Track, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Band, Rubik’s Cubing, Rocket Club, Young Democrat’s, PI Contest Champion, Golf 2nd Place Champion (2012) in a local tournament.
Awards: Various subject and music awards, some sports awards, Rensselaer Medalist.
Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: I don’t really want to brag because I’ve never visited this school and applied because it was around #4 or #5 as a top engineering school. But I’ve done research throughout the months and it’s appealed to me more and more. It’s become more than a random choice, and I am seriously considering going there.
As for advice, don’t try to come off as someone arrogant or pompous. Write about your passions in your essay. For the supplements, make sure to answer the question and not BS it; it’s not an english class. Do well on all your tests, but they don’ t determine everything. I think showing passion for engineering and math in your extracurriculars is tantamount.
Congrats to all Accepted! Good Luck to those Deferred! To those Denied, don’t even worry; I’m sure you’ll become great leaders and workers in the years to come. You weren’t rejected because you lack something; you’re destined to find your perfect fit somewhere else.

First acceptance so far! To all those deferred, have hope!
I got in! I still have a question though. When applying I applied to the major computer science. I got accepted but nowhere was it mentioned that I got Computer Science. Does Georgia Tech give out admissions for majors or just to the college in general?
