Reflection

Strengths:
What you tried to focus on in your application - any hooks you tried to make for yourself:
Weaknesses: SAT1 Math score, SAT2 Chemistry and Physics, cliched ECs.
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Essays, essays, essays.
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: GTech is my first acceptance.

Advice - There’s nothing I can say that isn’t already on CC, but if you want to know something specific, feel free to ask/PM me.

Absolutely thrilled! Congratulations to everybody else accepted. To those deferred / rejected - I have been where you are. I know how you feel. Something better is in store.

I got accepted!
White female OOS
35 ACT (32 math, 31 combined English/writing)
3.96 unweighted GPA
Non ranking school
7 APs: World (3), US (3), Lang (4), Calc BC (4), currently taking psych, stat, and physics
I think I have pretty good EC’s. Varsity cheer, an allstar cheer team, yearbook EIC, and church stuff.
My common app essay was written to the prompt about where you feel perfectly content and I wrote about cheer. It wasn’t particularly great, definitely not my best college essay I’ve written.
Recs - Teacher rec was from the yearbook teacher. She’s known me for years and really loves me so it was probably pretty good, talked about leadership and such. My counselor likes me a lot also but doesn’t know me that well so could’ve been great or just average.
Also accepted to: Clemson, Texas Tech, Mizzou, Alabama, waiting on UNC - Chapel Hill
There’s no way I’ll be able to go unless I get one of the big scholarships… but at least I can say I got in!

First acceptance. I find out the rest in Feb/Mar. Best of look to everyone!

Majors are not considered in the decision process. However, if you visit campus for a presentation for a particular major that could add weight in hat it shows your level of interest.

Yes, you have admission to the major you applied to. You can also change your major before you start very easily. Tech is not strict about this. You are admitted to the school, not any specific major.

You can change your major designation at FASET (orientation) they just need it to assign you an advisor. No big deal to switch.
