Official Graduate School Acceptance/Denial/Waitlist thread

Hi everyone, I'll get it started. I am applying to Communication PhD programs with a focus in rhetorical studies. My large number of schools applied to is due to finding a match with my girlfriend:

Georgia
Maryland
Minnesota
Northwestern
Iowa
Kansas
USC-Annenberg
Pittsburgh
North Carolina

I have only finished two of the apps so far, but the others are almost done.

Anyone else out there?

Down to nine schools now, eight applications finished. Already posted in the Bio thread but here they are again: Harvard, MIT, Rockefeller, Columbia, UPenn, Princeton, UCSF, Stanford, and UC Berkeley (the unsubmitted one b/c of that personal history statement). No rejections yet, but the prof who preferred paper recs sent them out too close to the deadline: Stanford has not received it, even though their deadline has passed. Harvard and UCSF also aren't reporting that they've received that LOR, and I'm starting to wonder whether sufficient postage was used. :| Here's hoping.

snowcapk: which program at columbia? :)

Hi astrina: I'm applying to Biological Sciences, and interested in development. Are you applying too? Already a student?

Yup, up in Health Sciences, though I'll be doing a rotation in a Biological Sciences lab starting in January. New York is a great place, and maybe more so for grad school than undergrad. :) Good luck!

Okay, cute, on page 2 of this thread, I talk about how I wanted to pick programs so my boyfriend and I could be in the same city.

That boyfriend is now my husband. :)

Congratulation's!

Vanderbilt - accepted and interviewed
ASU Biodesign Institute - accepted and interviewed
Rice (current UG school) - accepted
UCLA - accepted provisional (MS only, no fellowships)
Duke - waitlist
Texas - waitlist
UVa - waitlist

let's not forget my 10 rejections. with a tradition here being an end of school year party for seniors where 1 rejection = 1 free drink, i think i'm having a mini party :)

PhD English

Waiting on MIT (Chemical Engineering Practice PhD) Anyone applying to that program?

Also waiting on Harvard (Science, Technology, and Management)

why haven't i heard from anywhere except 1 place yet? i applied to 9! :(

I would check your spam filter... :P

If you're applying to programs in the biological sciences then I can understand some worry, but we're not even 1/3 of the way through Feb!!! A lot of decisions aren't announced until late in the month...even early March. Technically universities have until April.

Whoa! Who dug up the 3-year-old thread? And how come in 2006 all these people got their acceptances/rejections so early?
