Hi everyone, I'll get it started. I am applying to Communication PhD programs with a focus in rhetorical studies. My large number of schools applied to is due to finding a match with my girlfriend:

Georgia
Maryland
Minnesota
Northwestern
Iowa
Kansas
USC-Annenberg
Pittsburgh
North Carolina

I have only finished two of the apps so far, but the others are almost done.

Down to nine schools now, eight applications finished. Already posted in the Bio thread but here they are again: Harvard, MIT, Rockefeller, Columbia, UPenn, Princeton, UCSF, Stanford, and UC Berkeley (the unsubmitted one b/c of that personal history statement). No rejections yet, but the prof who preferred paper recs sent them out too close to the deadline: Stanford has not received it, even though their deadline has passed. Harvard and UCSF also aren't reporting that they've received that LOR, and I'm starting to wonder whether sufficient postage was used. :| Here's hoping.

Yup, up in Health Sciences, though I'll be doing a rotation in a Biological Sciences lab starting in January. New York is a great place, and maybe more so for grad school than undergrad. :) Good luck!

Vanderbilt - accepted and interviewed
ASU Biodesign Institute - accepted and interviewed
Rice (current UG school) - accepted
UCLA - accepted provisional (MS only, no fellowships)
Duke - waitlist
Texas - waitlist
UVa - waitlist

let's not forget my 10 rejections. with a tradition here being an end of school year party for seniors where 1 rejection = 1 free drink, i think i'm having a mini party :)

If you're applying to programs in the biological sciences then I can understand some worry, but we're not even 1/3 of the way through Feb!!! A lot of decisions aren't announced until late in the month...even early March. Technically universities have until April.

Basically, I am an American trying to go to school in the UK.

Acceptance
University of Edinburgh - MSc Evolution of Language and Cognition
University of Sheffield - MA Public Policy
London School of Economics and Political Science - MSc Philosophy and Public Policy

Rejection :(
London School of Economics - MPA, Public and Economic Policy

Still waiting for - UChicago, King's, Cambridge, UCL, St. Andrew's, Birkbeck

I got into my first choice, I’m getting my PhD at Johns Hopkins in health policy havent heard back yet from NYU, Columbia, or UVA masters programs, but that doesnt really matter now. Onto the next adventure…
