Reflection

[ul]
[]I think I was probably accepted (and given a scholarship) because of how well my interview went. If I didn’t show as much interest in GW as I did, I don’t think I would have stood out among the crowd.
[]Accepted: American, TCNJ, Penn State, UDelaware, Northeastern, and Boston University
[]Denied: NYU
[]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: I’m really happy that I got in! I can’t wait to get my financial aid package so that I can commit to GW. It’s been my dream school for nearly 2 years now, so this is really exciting for me. My advice to anyone applying to GW or any school really is to do whatever you can to stand out. I certainly was not the most impressive candidate for the Elliott school considering that I only joined my school’s JSA club this year and I’ve had no other political involvement with anything else before joining it. However, I was able to stand out through my interview in which I showed how I am different as well as how much I care about social issues in America and around the world. Basically, don’t be afraid to do an interview, no matter how shy you are. It really can’t hurt, and in my case, it will help me to save $60,000 over the next 4 years.
