So now that the application deadline has safely passed, I figured we can all get to know each other.

I’m looking to apply to Harvard as a transfer next year if that counts?

Only two this year and one for next? I thought there were more users on here.

I apple but I’m not expecting anything. I know that the chances are so low but admissions are such a crapshoot that I figure “why not?”

dont they only accept like 5 transfers?

I’m not sure, but I applied! It’s a long shot, but it’s worth trying.

@SwaGGeRer What, you don’t want to take the lead?

@howdypal There were 13 accepted last year (and 12 attended). There’s no indication the number will change drastically.

@engineer2014,

BostonCrmPie sent me a link that says otherwise. From what I read, Harvard’s admissions procedures are insanely rigorous and thorough to the point of being pedantic. After reading about their procedures, I feel better about my application. God forbid I don’t get in, but I’ll know that I’ve given my all and I didn’t get passed over because I was unlucky.

I printed the latter and stuck it to my wall.

hey guys I applied too, and even though I’m not expecting a miracle to happen come May, I don’t know why I’m still so anxious for the decision. I’m trying to calm myself for that email in May ahhh two months!

Smithsonian2011,

Where are you getting May from? From what I can tell, decisions will come out beginning of June.

I’ve looked through the past 5 years of Harvard transfer threads and I thought I remembered seeing people posting decisions in mid-May. Maybe in the recent years they’ve changed it to June and I just forgot which years I had been looking at.

^Gotcha. Thanks.

@smithsonian2011

They mention early June on their official website.

@eyethink:

I wasn’t necessarily referring to their transfer admissions. I actually go to school next to Harvard and I have a lot of friends there. I know a lot of people there very well and some people aren’t the superstars that someone was talking about earlier. Harvard is just like all other institutions. Sure, it’s selective, but regular people go there too. I just mean that perfect grades and scores aren’t everything. That’s all (: Sorry for the confusion

^^ gotcha. Hey can you mail me some Mike’s cannoli’s?

It’s midterm season here and to compound the problem I feel like I’m experiencing the male version of a period LOL.

I’m craving all kinds of food.

Haha I know what you mean! In fact, I think I’ll stop by Mike’s this week to help me study with my huge Chem midterm (: Thanks for the suggestion!!

Sounds like an awesome plan. Better yet, start your day with lamb sausage and eggs then some coffee ice cream at Toscanini’s.

How about I send you a 2007 bottle of one of our lovely Zin’s and you send me cannoli’s? I think that’s a fair trade lol.
