Official Harvard 2015 Decisions Countdown Thread

As far as I know, they will send you an e-mail. You won’t be asked to log-in in any site as such.

You get the decision by email if you selected that option on the supplement

It would be hilarious if CC broke down EXACTLY at 2 PM on decision day JUST LIKE LAST YEAR.

ughh, so nervous
and my interview from harvard is tomorrow (strange how late it is)
oh gosh :x gonna hope for the best!

I know the acceptance rate will be roughly 6%, but what percentage of people are generally waitlisted (in other words, what is the “not rejected” rate)?

I wonder how many Ivy schools will have their websites crash at 5 est on March 30th :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve heard because they are sending so many emails that the Harvard decision email can take a couple hours to receive. Talk about a torturous few hours.

How can their website crash? The emailing server is unrelated to the server that provides you with HTTP access to the website.

But yeah, it’s possible that it takes a few hours for them to send out, not to receive. Once it’s sent out, it should be immediately received.

The Yale and Columbia sites sort of crashed last year. Decisions were posted online and it took like 20 tries and 30 minutes to log in after the decisions were posted…

On December 15, the Yale website went down for a while a couple of hours before the decisions were supposed to be posted. They managed to get it back up in time, just sayin that with the record number of apps, there could be a couple of technological mishaps.

if you think of it getting in ed sucks.
waiting for decisions is so much fun

Last year, estimates on the number of waistlisted students was about 600-800. In the third week of may, they trimmed that number down to about 250-300. Then approximately 25-40 were z-listed (given a spot in the class of 2015) and I have no idea how many were given spots in the class of '14.

Wow. Could you imagine being waitlisted? Talk about torture! Like suppose you’re waitlisted & you just go ahead and confirm with another college…then harvard comes & says they want you…/:

Hey Dreams,
I have been encountering many of your posts since the last month and I would say that it is really great how well-aware you are of the multifaceted details of this app cyclone. But here, I would just like to add that I already know 3 BD citizen from Dhaka and 3 NRB, who have already been interviewed by a Harvard alumni. And dont worry abt ESS, they wont be having any iviers this time. However, u should get ready to expect a lot from Mastermind this time…

@ wisdom908

Forfeit the admission deposit and run to Harvard of course!! :p

Thank you for the info WannabePrince. Anyways I am not hoping much from the top US schools (SAT 1990) leave aside Harvard, but I still have some hopes because I know someone who got into a great school last year, waitlisted by Harvard & scored almost the same, was interviewed in the second week of March (1st interview).

And since the second week is not very far, I don’t have to wait for the entire month for Harvard’s decision. In most cases, late interviews get you either an acceptance or a waitlist, but certainly not a rejection.

I propose we begin a game of chess to pass the time.

1) Pawn to queen’s bishop 4.

WOW…Ok then, I will also be keeping my fingers crossed then…
And u never know about the ivies…your story-line is way too scintillating to not make a powerful impact on the AdCom…
However, please PM me in case you get invited for an Interview.

All the Best.
