CONGRATULATIONS to ALL who have been taken off the waitlist!!
Keep us informed!

has anyone gotten off the wait list yet?

not except a few special cases (i.e. legacies)... we'll probably have to wait at least until friday

I found my regional rep by asking my counselor, who then told me to ask my CAP office (I think it's college advisory something, i don't remember exactly), and the CAP office found the name of my regional rep. I'm actually not sure what the difference is, b/c on the business card it says "admissions officer".

Who do you send the update email to?

All admitted students have access to a list of regional admission officers. You guys can probably find a friend who has access to the list.

berkeley31 i sent you a pm! write back if you can

i'm expecting a small wave on friday
so, i won't be checking cc until then
which is probably a false claim

Are you guys sure you should contact your regional admissions officer? I was always told that the reason Harvard doesn't list them is so that students won't contact them.

I know who mine is (I asked through a friend), so should I contact her?

By the way, I've sent updates, and I'm in South Carolina.

brownflavors, you mea 150-175 is wrong?
and if our guidance counselor hasn't gotten a call, is that a bad sign?

when I called, I was given he email addres to the file room and was told that was the quickest and surest way to send updates, so that's exactly what I did. no reply or confirmation though. i'll call tomorrow.

My interviewer gave me the e-mail to which I should send my info, though I never got a reply.

yeah, the fileroom didn't send me a confirmation or anything either... rather frustrating, but they responded to an email before to inform me that they didn't open attachments, so they must've gotten it... i'm just nervous because my updates were rather important...

wait so are you guys contacting your regional admissions officer? I still don't know if it'd be very appropriate

@berkeley31, IN has an admissions officer. It's on the list accessible by admitted students. You should probably find an admitted friend and ask him/her.

hi all, I've been reading this thread for the past week, and I just registered as a CC member so I can post. I just got a call from a Harvard admissions counselor and was informed that I had been taken off the waitlist!!! I thought I'd share with everyone here and I'm sure you all will have questions for me. I will check this thread regularly to answer them the best I can, but good luck to everyone!!!

^well done. Where did you send your SIR?

@CNI

It's absolutely fine to do so. I did (I actually sent a lot of stuff to (him/her)), and from what I can tell, my rep did not respond unfavorably. I think Harvard knows that this rep information is very "leaky"; they won't think you're a brownnoser if you contact your rep. It probably varies, though; find someone who has the same reader you do.

^ Wow congrats dude. That's amazing!

Did you send any additional info or anything like that? Also, did you contact your regional admissions officer?

@xd32

Are you a legacy or some extremely exceptional case (i.e., your grades changed massively)? How did you get off the waitlist so early?
