Concerning 2nd semester grades-- even if you are accepted off the waitlist, you must have your gc send the Final Report - which includes a final transcript with end of the year grades, and final comments from your g.c.

Are you all sending in new material to Harvard in hopes of getting off the waitlist? and if so, what kinds of materials are you sending?

after harvard waitlisted me, i was really upset for a few days...but then i visited princeton and stanford and fell in love with their campuses and undergrad programs. i definitely like pton and stanford's campus a LOT better than harvard's. i think harvard will be better for me as graduate school.

so i officially declined my waitlist yesterday.
harvard isn't everything.

that's great perpetualmotion, congratulations!

heard from someone that he was accepted off the wait list a coupel of days ago. can that be?

^^^ I highly, highly doubt it, as Harvard doesn't even know how many people are matriculating yet. The sheer use the waitlist depends on how many people decide to enroll. If he WAS somehow accepted off the waitlist, that means that more people have declined a spot ALREADY than they had originally anticipated. My friend at Harvard (and this is COMPLETELY hearsay) says that the waitlist might not be used at all this year.

I think from the begining we've known that they might not take anyone off of it. But it will still come down to numbers.

im waitlisted as well. im super excited for either stanford or penn tho.. still, are we supposed/allowed to send in other materials if we want? maybe another essay or whatever?

Harvard has started accepting a few from the waitlist.

And the plot thickens. I called, and was told that Harvard would start waitlist deliberations in May. Can anyone confirm or deny these rumors positively?

That quote was from 2007 aristotle

Lol, yeah, just realized. I can't edit my original post, though...

This really is the year of the waitlist. Everywhere.

All we can do is...wait...and see.

Did anyone send anything in

read TIME for this month
there is a short blob on waitlisted people
it's nothing we don't know

Yeah. I read that and was not surprised that so many were waitlisted. =[

I guess in a few days we'll know if anyone's getting off the waitlist or not.

ahh it's so nerve wracking!!!

I imagine we won't know for a while. I've heard that the review board won't make any new choices until at least the 9th.

I was at prefrosh weekend, and I met lots of cross-admits who told me they were opting for Harvard (actually, all except 1 of the ones I personally acquainted myself with said this). Maybe scheduling the visiting program the weekend before may 1 helps lol
