I cannot log in and I was admitted.

Any admitted planning on to do one last visit before making decision?

I got a call from JP on Thursday that I'd been admitted, and he said I'd be getting an e-mail (with my access code?) posthaste, but I've yet to receive one. I tried calling him back but his answering machine said he'd be out of the country until June 9. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey guys, im on the waitlist too, and a few days ago at graduation my principal announced that I had the highest weighted GPA in the history of the school. Is that something I really need to report to Harvard, or is it simply too late and I shouldnt even bother?

^^
Congrats but a.) Harvard is already aware that your GPA is very high and b.) it's probably too late.

The general consensus appears to be that H has made its first round of decisions and will be sending out both acceptance and rejection letters today. Of course, they will probably still have a few spots open as some people will decline (as several on CC already have) the invitation.

Just checked, nothing's working yet for either admitted students or app status. My son is going to have a heart attack if the package doesn't come tomorrow or the next day. The first thing out of his mouth when he walked in the door yesterday after school was "Did Harvard send my anything?" No hello or anything else, he's so stressed, he needs to see the acceptance in writing. It's just not real to him yet.

ttlyswt:

I think you should ask your principal or GC to write a letter to H that includes this fact. Even if the 1st round is over, there could be a second round. The letter needs to be from someone in authority who has access to the actual data.

I also heard yesterday that a student from a private HS in our city was accepted from the waitlist also. I think it may have helped that we're close to Harvard in proximity.

Good luck to everyone!

It's sort of strange knowing that the end is near. We've become our own little community.

Ummm...

lol I just tried the admitted login page but it said "user was not found"...

What message is everyone else getting?

I received this in an email from my son's GC this morning:

"I just came from a college meeting and there was another Harvard rep. At the meeting. She also confirmed as many as 200 being removed from the waitlist. And, that the there are still decisions being made."

Swimmer9, you were admitted, so stop worrying!!!

I'm curious though, can you log into the application status page?

Philly_Mom...I can't believe this! I was just getting adjusted to Washington DC!

Yeah, I really want this over. What a roller coaster!

Will all of you admitted say "YES" to H?

Swimmer9 : Maybe the Harvard page is giving different messages. You were admitted and are coming up with user was not found, but see what happens if you put in a fictional name and access number. Is the message different?

I'm not looking forward to 40,000 per year!!!!!

Called, and they said that they called EVERY person who'd been admitted first round. And for those that get letters w/o prior notice is most likely rejected.

And ugh, I really hope something good happens to all of us in the end :)

GenericXD, thanks for posting the latest information. I was wondering if they gave you any sense of the numbers. Since they are calling and checking on whether the student will actually attend before they make the offier - it is highly likely that the accept rate would be close to 100%. In that case, the only hope is the number of openings left. Thanks !

I knew the end is near.
I have to be the first one to get to the mail box when that rejection letter comes. I am hiding it from my D.
Thanks everyone for the support group. I couldn't have done this waiting without you all.
Now, I'll concentrate on Berkeley that is where my D will be going this fall.
We have much to celebrate .. Valedictorian.. Regents Scholar etc etc.
Good Luck to you all.
