by someone on here that it might be a good sign if you get "incorrect access code" when you try to log into the admitted students page. if I put in a fictional login, I get "user not found"

so, when you guys try it, which of the two messages does it display? (also, have you been accepted or not?)

Yeah, I haven't heard anything from the adcom either, and I'm getting "User Not Found..." I'm gonna have to say that I hope I get SOME sort of letter on friday, one way or another... It'd be nice to know and move on.

Chihuahua!,
Don't look too much into this. For the record, admin office has said this is meaningless. Curious though, some of the waitlistees who were recently admitted indicated they received the same message, "user not found" and admin told them it would take a few weeks for them to be re-set to gain access. Then again, some have said if you enter a ficticious name, you get the same "user not found" message. Again, I don't think you can glean anything solid from this. Just keep the faith!

wait why is everybody under the impression that if the adcom has not contacted them by now then they are rejected? Did Harvard say this was the last day?

i got incorrect access code. was clinging to false hope for a while
but then i realized it may just be that some admitted student has the same last name as me.
i didn't receive a call

It's meaningless. If someone shares your last name - as vivzee pointed out - and you put your access code, the result will be incorrect access code.

My son was waitlisted at H last year and after I followed the site closely for weeks, he received the dreaded rejection letter. He went to Penn and truly could not be happier, or more enthusiastic about his classes. Each top school offers possibilities and experiences available nowhere else. So, from the perspective of one year out, let me say that while the admissions game is very engrossing at the time, college itself is much more engrossing!

I didn't get the call, I guess I was rejected. But if today is the rejection day, why couldn't I log in to check my application status online? I am very disappointed with how H treated us waiting listees.

I wouldn't bet on the letters arriving today, tomorrow is more likely - unless you live very close to H or something... And i don't think we're sure how many rejection letters went out yesterday, hafulopi: maybe hundreds, perhaps only a few. I doubt your application status page will show anything until well after you receive your letter (one way or another), but no promises :)

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but the following was posted by an accepted student from the WL or parent of one on the Harvard 2012 board late this morning. Apparently they just received the following e-mail from Admissions.

"Everyone check your emails!!!!

We just received this -

Dear

By now you should have received a phone call from your Harvard Admissions Officer offering you a place in the Harvard Class of 2012. Please accept our congratulations for your outstanding achievements.

Within the next few days you will receive your official admission letter and a packet of materials in the mail. In the mean time, you may wish to visit the Admitted Student Website at Harvard College Admissions Office: Admitted Students. You will need your Admissions Access Code xxxxxx to log in.

We need to know as soon as possible, and no later than Wednesday, May 27th at 4:30 pm EDT, whether or not you plan to accept our offer of admission. You can choose to respond via our accepted student website https://admapp.admissions.fas.harvar...NevoLanding.do using your Admissions Access Code: xxxxxx . If you accept admission for the coming September, further information will be sent to you during the summer by the Freshman Dean’s Office.

Please note that if you have applied for financial aid the Financial Aid Office will be communicating with you by email within 24 hours regarding your financial aid application. If you have not received your Financial Aid Award by the May 27th reply deadline we are able to grant you an extension in order to give you and your family an opportunity to consider your Financial Aid Award as part of your decision. If that is the case, we ask that you please contact your Admissions Officer by calling (617) 495-1551 to request an extension.

We hope that you will decide to join us in Cambridge.

I suppose that a few more spots may open up if some people decide not to go to H but the odds are looking bleak for those still on the WL.

as a longshot, they may only have sent that email to the accepted students who "should have received a phone call." But yeah, if you haven't had any contact I'd brace for the worst. I'd settle for the z-list, but then again, I'd settle for my safety school too, so whatever :)
