alphabetical order maybe?

Does anyone have predictions as to when we will find out the official yield? Didn't the Crimson post an article last year indicating that Harvard would take ~30 from the waitlist?

This is a link to last year's yield from the Harvard Crimson, The Harvard Crimson :: News :: Yield Remains High for Class of 2011, it's dated May 18, 2007. It won't be long now.

My prediction has really changed in the last few days. I seem to know wayyy too many people that have turned down H, and I think yield will be around 75%, with around 100-150 taken off the waitlist.

^too many as in 400?

hahaha no.. as in like 2/5 of the people I've talked to (I'd say like, 4 or 5 total?). But assuming that they have the same yield, then that's still leave around 100 spots open. And, if you think about it, it's not like other competitors didn't overhaul their fin. aid

Yahoo answers had following data for 2007
"Of the approximately 700-1000 waitlisted last year, 81 were accepted. Of the 700-1000, about 2/3 reply for waitlisting. The other 1/3 who do not are not considered in Harvard's decision among the waitlisted applicants. Decisions usually arrive by May 31."

Is this accurate?

I think yield will remain at 80%, I think that 75% is too low a prediction. Regardless, I want to find out sooner rather than later!

Also, in keeping with years past, I think the Crimson will publish an article on yield on the 16th (next Friday) ... Thoughts?

Stanford's class is full. Maybe they took a lot of potential H students?

Should I have received confirmation after sending a letter of interest in mid-April? What else can I be doing to up my chances of getting taken off the waitlist?

I know someone who got off the waitlist...

We're all waiting to hear the specifics...

... to name a few...
... when was he/she contacted?...
... how was he/she contacted?...
... who is he/she?...
... is he/she on this forum?...
... is he/she going to accept?...

CNI: that may be true. Two of my best friends chose Stanford over Harvard, and they know a bunch of people who did the same.

i guess they are taking a long time choosing each person

Can I get some feedback from my fellow WL. Has your Harvard application status page been reactivated after being unavailable through May 1st

I think everyone's status works

to believer 8:

... to name a few...
... when was he/she contacted?...: i guess some time last week (not 100% sure)
... how was he/she contacted?...: didn't ask..
... who is he/she?...: my friend..
... is he/she on this forum?...: no
... is he/she going to accept?...: he already has..

hope that helps a bit..
