Just called the admissions office. Seems like they will be using the waitlist a lot this year. First meeting is tomorrow for admissions committee, but it will be a rolling process that will go all the way into June. Admitted students will be informed by phone, email, and package. (Don't know about those rejected...)

If you are wondering whether your materials were received or not, just call up the admissions office. They are really helpful (and the lady was really nice as well).

If We're waitlisted, how do we find out if we get in or not? and on what day?

i called the admissions office too, and they're definitely using the waitlist. deliberations start soon and they'll start making phone calls next week i believe.

Good luck everyone :)

There are a little under 200 spots open on the waitlist. Good luck!

How many students were waitlisted? 200 is what percentage of those waitlisted?

WHAT???? oh my god, 200 is a ludicrous. That means the yield was 10% under what they'd predicted

CNI,

please explain. I don't understand. Do you know the number of actual waitlisted students? so, if they take around 200 off this list, what % is that?

No one knows how many students are on the list. In their letter to waitlistees, they said "several hundred" had been waitlisted. To me, that would be anywhere from 100-2000. If the list was 1500, and 2/3 accept their spot, that means 200 is 20% of the waitlisted class. That also means that they probably had a yield oof around 70-75%

Gotcha. Best of luck! My son has a friend who is very hopeful of getting accepted from the waitlist.

i just read the crimson article "...And, he added, the admissions office will be able to make a lot of people happy in the month of June."

this is so exciting!!!

Here we go now! This recent news post will arouse this forum! Keep us informed.

All the best!

YESSSS!! 10char

Try 78 percent

Tomorrow could be a life changing day.

lol my bad, I'd been using your 200 number. either way, looks like I can't do math in my head well at all.

It makes more sense that they'd send out acceptance letters as soon as possible, but what did Fitzsimmons mean by a lot of people would be happy in June? That leads me to think that even though they said the bulk of decisions would be made by the end of this month, they won't send them until later. That seems wrong though.
