My son is still on the list
UPDATED LIST
Has anyone called asking when another update will be released?
My daughter is on waitlist, committed to University of Vermont Honors College.
@margo41 last year Harvard released people the Tuesday after Memorial Day. IF Harvard keeps to their schedule, others should be released off the list in 19 minutes.
I am also still on the list!!! Haven’t heard anything yet

@margo41 I just sent them an email asking when they would release more decisions.
My son is also on the wait list and committed to Hopkins. I called last week, they are making more offers this week, sounded like by Friday. Good luck everyone!

My D is still on the WL and has committed to MIT.
IMHO there must have been more than 1,000 students on the original WL because if the number was lower than Yale or Princeton, Harvard would tout their exclusivity just as they did its 5.3% admission rate. Just my feeling, I don’t have any actual info. My guess is that original WL = 1,250-2,500 students. The questions I have now are: a) how many remain on the WL, b) how many spots are they looking to fill, and c) are they exclusively looking for “like-matches” at this point? (i.e. looking to replace the Latino oboe player from North Dakota who declined Harvard’s offer) Some schools do this, but who knows with Harvard; they keep everything so close to the vest.
Good luck to you all. If you made it this far, you must be brilliant young people with outstanding resumes, who wowed your interviewers. Congrats on getting this far. I have no doubt that you will succeed at whatever lucky college gets you as a student next year.
Still on the WL…committed to UCLA
Son on WL. Good luck to all!
My friend’s son is still on waiting list.
This is purely a guess based on just a few anecdotal reference points, but I suspect that Harvard has quite a bit more than 1,000 students on its original wait list. I also suspect that this was quite intentional and that the school managed its acceptances to maintain its acceptance rate and its yield and that it had full intention of using its wait list. I have no idea how they decide who they will take from the WL.
