Official Huntsman Ed Thread

25/140 = 20%

i don't know why, but somehow that %-age seems too high

yeah...i know...it does sound too high...but I guess it's only fair for us EDers...

Wow Pepero. Only one from entire Korea? That's tight. Doesn't that make you a URM? Ha ha. How many Koreans does the Program pick every year? two ~ three?

what's a URM?
yay, i finally watched harry potter (just got back)!

URM = under-represented minority :) I hope I'm one too...haha

ha - I don't think I'll be a under-represented minority because even though I'm the only one applying ED, there are heaps and heaps applying to RD and Huntsman 'so is aware of that' ... lol.

Yeh, I was thinking that 20/140 - 20% was kinda high.

My guess for this year's ED apps would be about 200 ppl, .... 10% rate~
I mean, we already have 6 ppl here right?

Weren't there like seven applicants from CC last year?

I think there were 3-4,,, and I think 3 got in :) it was amazing !

I never knew there are that many students applying from Korea. I hope to meet you at Penn!

hey abc.. :) Yeh, there are alot - at least 10-15 every year which is pretty much. and most of them get in through korean as their native language. some with proficiency in other langagues.

Yeah - it'd be great to see you too! So if there was a girl in huntsman from korea accepted in the ED round, you'd be like - hey, that's the girl from CC ! :)

Where're you from?

hey guyz, i took the french test, and it was ok..
but the weird thing was that i think i only got the reading and speaking tests. not the written part.
or, is the written part actually the questions other than multiple-choices?

I live in the States, which makes me an ORM (Over-Represented Majority). Ha ha.

Hey all you huntsman people! There's exactly a week left till our results come out!! So let's relax....

Cheer up! since last year, it seems 5 out of the 7 Huntsman CCers got accepted:)

How many of us are there this year?

i believe 7, according to that other thread w/ the list

let's hope this year 7/7 get in..haha

well, good luck to you all!

7/7 would be fabulous. We should make something like a CC-Huntsman club kk it'd already be composed of a sixth of the whole Huntsman 2010 class.

exactly a week left?
i thought there were only 6 days left =X

hey everyone
i applied ED Huntsman for french, i never get the oral exam thingy so im guessing thats not a good sign, my french is crazy strong i spent this summer in quebec on a scholarship, but i think its my sat1s and gpa that will bring me down, le sigh
oh well

Now there are eight applicants. All Huntsman applicants please step forward!

8 students....oh my god...

what do you guys think about your chances?

I, to be most frank, don't think I'll be denied, but that I have the most chance of being deferred. Everything else is fine, but the two things that really nerve me is my language choice and the better GPAs of 2 other students who applied from my school.

What did you guys write for the Huntsman essay?

my Huntsman essay was my objective essay, my why essay was 100% creative, and my last essay was half-half

right now, i dont think i'll get accepted to huntsman because (though the Huntsman office said not to think this way, i cant help it) i didnt receive a language proficiency test =</p>
