Official indian stats

I don’t think that’s him… He never told me that he had taken APs. His math2 and chem was 770 or 780 or something

That isn’t him.

If he doesn’t want to post his stats, then you shouldn’t be doing it on his behalf. (Even if they are wrong stats :P)

Hey, anyone taking APs?
I’m thinking of taking the Chem, phy, and Calc in May next year, what say?

I did mention that my purpose of posting the stats wasn’t to ambush him! I was just reading this thread, and the more blue_box was refused to post his stats, the more curious I became to know them. Natural human tendency. So I clicked on “view more posts” or something, and voila. I wouldn’t have posted them unless they really impressed me. I couldn’t understand why someone with such an interesting profile would consider the said profile not worthy of any college. So I posted it, thinking it wouldn’t offend anyone. However, in retrospect, I regret being this presumptuous! Sorry.

You’re missing the important point here, they aren’t his stats.

Good! For us I mean. Let them starting feeling good from the class of 2016 onwards!

Lolz. 2016 onwards!

No, that wasn’t me. I was proxy posting. And if I remember correctly, this was way back when I first joined, when I was in 10th grade. I gave my SAT II’s in 12th grade, and SAT I in 11th. My GPA is about .8 lower, my SAT is 200 points lower, I didn’t give the Physics SAT II, my Math and Chem are about 100 points cumulatively lower, I never took any APs (didn’t have the opportunity), I’m not a member of Mensa (haha), I’ve never taken part in programming competitions, have never worked part-time, have never done community service, and never worked on the school magazine. And I wasn’t really looking for aid. The person I posted that for is going to Berkeley, I think, class of '13.
If you guys are that curious, I did make a chances thread, and its here:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/788628-need-safeties-matches.html</a>
The SAT II score is inaccurate, it was an estimate of how much I thought I would get, based on practice tests, before I had that score cancelled. Other than that, its my complete profile right there.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I don’t care about you guys looking at my stats, as long as you don’t judge your chances based on my stats. I’m afraid you’re going to do this even if you don’t really want to. Sort of a “my stats are better, so my chances are better” or “my stats are worse, so my chances are worse” mental response, even if its subconscious.

^So is editing Wikipedia a valid EC??? Did you mention that you were an admin in your application?? Do colleges believe such stuff??

So, what exactly “sucked” in your stats blue_box? Only your SAT score was off-key; apart from that, your profile was good - top school, passionate about tech, some rather unique qualities as a person - it does look like you could have done something with it.

One of my essays was about my experiences on Wikipedia, so I’d imagine they believed it.

Nothing set me apart from the multitude of other people applying.

Hey blue box 2190 coupled with those ecs were definitely enough for u to consider applying to a few competitive schools…

I did apply to competitive schools. I got rejected from Georgetown and Cornell. But I didn’t apply to MIT, Harvard, Columbia, etc., because it wasn’t worth it, and my counselor wouldn’t have let me apply anyway.

If u dont mind me asking y do u think u were rejected from those colleges?
Was it the scores ecs or …??

My scores, and my inability to show a passion for something.

I know u dont believe in chance threads blue box but id be really grateful if u could take a look at this thread and reply…
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1023853-help-me-out-pleaseeeeee-ill-chance-back-anyone-who-chances-me.html</a></p>

Looked at that, and you’re as competitive as they get, Violator. With MIT, Stanford, Caltech and Princeton its sort of hard to say. MIT, Stanford, Caltech look for technical creativity, while Princeton is more of an academic thing. So MIT, Sta, Calt would be difficult, but its a crapshoot anyway. Princeton is also a crapshoot, but perhaps less of one (note the ambiguous wording. chances are never accurate)
You’re good for Upenn (engineering, and not wharton), GTech, and UMich, while Cornell and UCB seem like very slight reaches.

There you go. Common sense dictates you should ignore what I wrote above. Chances threads are useless.

1) Your EC’s definitely indicate that you’re passionate about technology and computers, and I would imagine you did stress a bit on those in you applications.

2) I’m a very frequent editor (but not an admin) on Wikipedia, and I have devoted a lot of time to it. I was wondering where I should mention it, since I’m not going to write an essay on it, nor am I going to attach a resume for my EC’s.

3) Would you happen to have the essay you wrote about Wiki?? I really would love to have a look at it (I’m obviously not going to copy it; just want to see what you feel about the site).

Bluebox wasn’t your SAT2 770 M and 760 C? How is that a hundred points lower?

Violater, the Gold medal in Math- what level of competition did you recieve it in? Don’t forget to mention that in your application- it is very important to know the importance of the award. A simple gold medal in math sounds very ambiguous and leaves the adcoms grasping for more.

I specified it as state level…
Anyways do any of u mind guessing what the outcome of my Stanford EA would be… just take a guess??(wait list, accept or reject)
I noe its all very random but still…

Was 780, 740. So about 40 points lower. I exaggerate.
