~~Official IUB decisions out ~~

well..people i got my IUb decision now.. Accepted .. well best part that i submitted the apps on april 1 after US decisions yet was into round 3 whose deadline was 15 march

... well to top it all .. i got a Euro 8500 scholarship per yr which is merit based..

now waiting for the financial aid package to be recieved in a few days.. man the scholarship ensures that the loan component in the upcoming aid package be reduced to zero.. :):):)

SM

cool...damn good SM...

Got accepted too. Waiting for FinAid. If it is any good I might end up going there. Of course if I am not accepted from any waitlist. What about you SmartMind?

well i dont have waitlist either but few acceptances in US.. yet they are damn costly and i cant pay that much to go there.. moreover the 8500 schol thingy ensures i think 100% germany now..even if they tweek my aid package a little

SM

Awww... I was lookin' forward to meeting more CC-ers in the US besides banedon, kenyon_10, kee10 and Kj.

But Congrats SM and TemplarofSteel! :D

US aint that far frm germany ..:p

SM

eehhhhhhh, i just got my decision too, waitlisted... hey SM and templarofsteel, can you just not go to IUB, so there are more places in IUB and i would have more chances to get accepted from the waitlist...

will you?!

hahahahahaha, just jokeing

aaaaaaaaahh they waitlist people too thats weird..

well seeems like they too having surge in apps.. dont worry olsi .. i knw more than tens of ppl who wont be going there..

SM

can you speak german? Do you need to speak german?

well i knw almost veryyyyyy basic german which may be equated to no info at all..but u need absolutely NO GERMAN SKILLS FOR ALL LANGUAGE IS ENLGISH HERE...

though ppl do gather basic knowledge of german when they stay here for 3 yrs..

SM

hey I am considering IUB too .. I am pretty fluent in german - got an A in AS Level German.. is IUB the best in Germany? and how renowned is it internationally?

Admit

10,000 scholarship + an aid package

computational science

Q ?

Will a three year BS degree here rule out US MS options later ? Any views ?

it is not the best but it is a very very exellent university and what is special about it is that it applies a US college system intrecated with the 3 year European system. About the German language, you wont need it at all.... like SM said no german required or needed... you should worry only about the VISA

3 yr IUB BS=4 yr US BS (in terms of academics)
so u wont face any problems in doing MS in US after ur BS at IUB
100% sure.

yes they have exactly same curriculum of 4 yrs but crunched into 3 yrs due to german rule..

thus wel the per semester course requirements shoots up making IUb a academically tough institution..

SM

hey have you heard for any other wait-listed student form IUB???

well as of now i havent heard many news .. lemme wait till tomrorow./

SM

Well, I was planning to take a gap year, but then I thought let's give a try to IUB in the 3rd round! Whether I get rejected or accepted, it wudn't have affected my gap year plans! But surprisingly, I got into IUB. I am still waiting for the financial package to arrive. And the worst of all, everyone wants me to go there! I am confused!
