Official IVIES thread

shjanama...is your name Nandini? I LOVE that name!!!! (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam forever!)

Brown ED.

Thinking about Princeton, but I figure if I can't get into Brown, there's no chance of getting into princeton. Thoughts about that?

optimism, please...admissions at all the ivies is so subjective, so you never know...i've heard of someone who couldn't get into the UC's (lives in CA) but got into stanford

Columbia, Yale and Penn for me

Ad of course Columbia is my top choice. :)

Columbia and Dartmouth definitely, maybe brown if I have time

Woo hoo for Ivy kids!! Yale (EA), Harvard, Penn and Brown for me. Good luck to everyone!

P-ton (ED), Dartmouth, Cornell, and Brown for me (also probably my order of preference there)

When do all you ED/EA-ers anticipate hearing back?

Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, and Princeton (for the heck of it)

If I got into one and decided to go there, I'd get one of the sweatshirts from ivy sport as well.

The West Coast Ivy (Stanford) EA.

Yale, Penn, and Brown RD.

Collegehopeful...thank you for adding a nontraditional ivy to our list!

Princeton (ED) Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, Brown. Too many colleges? Nah, I don't think so.

Cornell (ED), then maybe Princeton, Columbia and Penn....though I really hope it doesn't have to come to that...

Dartmouth and Cornell

Cornell (ED) and my only ivy, could you consider UVa an ivy of the south? i'll most likely end up in UVa though (not that I don't love UVa, my 2nd choice), I love Cornell more and I would do almost anything to get in, but it's a reach none-the-less.

UVA is def an IVY of the south...i thank you, too, for adding the nontraditional Ivy...
Good luck to all!

I'm applying to Yale (EA), Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, and Dartmouth. I already own sweatshirts from Yale, Harvard, and Brown.

Yale is by far my first choice.

Here is an idea:

While many of us know our first choice, and have applied early, 80%-75% of early applicants from CC will be rejected or deferred. Hopefully the "IVIES" thread in the College Admissions section can be kept open as an overall thread instead of many within the forums. On December 15th, many of us will have to consider migrating our main focus out of school specific forums. Lets all meet here, and hopefully have some of the comraderie that the individual forums have felt.

In Yale forum: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=10380%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=10380</a>

In Harvard forum: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=10272%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=10272</a></p>

If any more from other Ivies or similar schools want to start up this tradition, lets begin. Hopefully this post can become the future home for these discusions after December 15, January 1st, April 1st, and May 1st.

Another Idea:

If you want to post a more specific Ivies question on the general College Admissions board, but it in the form of: IVIES + (Question)
example: IVIES Teacher recommendation
example: IVIES Minorities

i love that idea! (<3!) I have posted an announcement in each Ivy's forum...hopefully everyone will get the message...
and yes, I love the idea of this being an overall thread where all Ivy (traditional and non) applicants can come together...kind of like a support group as opposed to a place where we fight over whose best b/c everyone knows that every school is best in its own way (sorry for sounding so cliche, but yall know it's true! :))
I hope to see a huge surge in posts as soon as the EA/ED decisions come out in mid-December

Dec. 15...for most Ivies. Penn is Dec. 10 this year..anyone know why?

ED Penn for me, btw. Currently riding the emotional rollercoaster of the college admissions process...and yes! It is killing me softly...:)

Hey yall! I've been trying to spread word of this forum to the nontraditional Ivies (the traditional ones already have a message in their forums), but I can only post one message every 60 seconds, so I'm not getting very far...
Please help spread the word to any non-traditional Ivy's (interpret that to mean whatever school you want) forum that doesn't have the message yet...It's titled "Please come join us"
Thanx
